Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 148

Adam frowned a little.

He was Shannon's father, but he hadn't said anything before Alex voiced his own opinion. It just wasn't the appropriate behavior.

He didn't want Shannon to study at some mystic school either, but after the previous incident where Shannon was asked to give up her room, he had already learned his lesson. He would ask for his daughter's opinion first.

"Alex, Shannon can decide which college she wants to attend. As her uncle, you're going too far by declining offers on her behalf."

Realizing that Adam wasn't afraid to speak up either, Alex turned around and said, "Adam! I'm doing this for her good! We've never even heard of this school, so aren't you worried that Shannon might get misguided if she entered a school like that? Are you letting her be ordained or something?"

It was quite rude to speak so plainly with the admissions officer around, but Alex didn't care about that.

He felt that Adam had changed ever since the latter got his daughter back.

He feared that Adam's judgment might get clouded.

"Ahem… A mystic practitioner is different from getting ordained. Ordination is part of the ancient belief, not mystics." The robed admissions officer smiled as he explained.

Alex glanced at the officer.

Those concepts weren't that much different to him.

It was bad enough that Shannon was doing mystic stuff at home. He wouldn't allow her to tarnish their family's reputation out there.

As a music producer, he couldn't afford to get shamed like this.

Hector didn't care what Alex thought. He just looked at Shannon and asked, "Shannon, have you looked into this school before?"

Unlike the other members of the Jensen family, he had witnessed Shannon's capabilities in person. He didn't object to her enrolling in specialized schools in this aspect, but this school had to be trustworthy in the first place. They had to make sure that it wasn't a scam or something like that.

After all, there have been many fake schools popping up recently.

Shannon had been silent all this while, but when she heard Hector's question, she finally tilted her head a little.

"I've heard about it, but I don't know much about it."

The Abbot of Windsong Monastery had only told her about the Jamborough School of Mystic Arts.

"Shannon, going to college is more than just getting a certificate. You'll be gathering experience and connections to help with your entry into society. You should think twice before making a decision."

Nearby, Finn and Xavier were looking at Shannon in curious surprise.

Unlike the others in the Jensen family, Finn and Xavier had only met Shannon once when she returned to the family. But they also heard from Hank and Caleb that Shannon had previously caused a ruckus about running away from home.

Finn and Xavier didn't target Shannon like Hank and the others did. Instead, they felt that Shannon looked so pretty that she couldn't have been as terrible as Hank made her out to be.

Still, they were surprised that Shannon was interested in becoming a mystic practitioner.

"Shannon, if you enter a mystic school, are you going to be a nun when you graduate?" Finn couldn't help but smile as he spoke up.

The Jensens had even weirder looks on their faces when they pictured Shannon becoming a nun.

Shannon had always been more lenient on people who didn't mean her any harm. When she heard that, she shook her head. "That's different."

"Everyone, you may have some misunderstandings about our school. Why don't I tell Ms. Gray some key points about our school?"
