Laura and Beatrice completely lost it and burst into tears.
Only Agnes managed to keep her cool.
"Thank you, Doctor. What should we do next?"
"You need to get the patient admitted now, and deposit some cash into the patient's medical card for treatment expenses. Keep in mind that these expenses could be sky-high, as the patient needs to be under intensive care."
For the rest of the time, Agnes was tied up in handling all these procedures.
The car accident had also caused a pile-up with two other vehicles.
The cops came by in the afternoon to investigate the scene.
Agnes went to the police station to give her statement.
By evening, she was back at the hospital.
Preston was in the ICU.
Laura was crying outside the room.
A lot of people came to see him.
There were executives from the company, and some artists who had been tight with Preston.
"Laura, you gotta toughen up. With Mr. Pritchard in this state, Starlight International Group is on your shoulders now. And remember, as long as there's life, there's hope. Mr. Pritchard will pull through."
Laura couldn't stop crying, "How could he be so heartless, lying there without a care in the world, while all the bankruptcy shit of Starlight International Group falls on me. Beatrice is so young and Agnes doesn't give a damn. Are they trying to kill me?"
Laura was crying her eyes out.
Her old pals were all heartbroken to see her like this.
Agnes walked over.
Only then did Agnes ask Laura, "You said something about Starlight International Group going bankrupt. What's up with that?"
Laura explained, "Starlight International Group's finances have been in shambles for a while now. With dad in this state, what are we going to do about the massive debts and the looming bankruptcy?"
"But didn't the Tim Group cover the big gap for Starlight International Group? How could it still be like this?"
Jared never told Agnes about this.
She didn't ask him once she found out.
The Whitfield family still owed her that.
Laura sighed, "That money, although it temporarily saved Starlight International Group, all your dad's previous investments were lost. He even used half of Starlight International Group's shares to repay debts. Now almost all those projects are losing money, and Starlight International Group isn't what it used to be. If this continues, Starlight International Group will go under soon."
Agnes felt the pressure increase in her heart.
Laura seemed to have another idea, "Maybe you could ask the Whitfield family for help again? Right now, they're the only ones who can save Starlight International Group."
