Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1242

Rumor had it that he hadn't been in his right mind lately.

Cilian was completely disillusioned with his younger brother and had decided to wash his hands of him.

And Valeria? This time, she wasn’t bending over backward to help.

Apparently, Berlin had crashed into someone rather significant—a high-ranking official's only son after a night of drinking in the Capital. The poor guy was still in the hospital, teetering between life and death.

If Valeria hoped to get Berlin out of this mess, it would be no small feat.

Agnes had just stepped out of her room when she spotted Valeria and Jared chatting over by the terrace. She hadn’t planned to interrupt, but Jared caught sight of her and headed her way.

Agnes walked over as well, greeting Valeria with a smile, "Ms. Thomas, long time no see."

Valeria chuckled, "Oh, come on, Agnes. We've known each other long enough. Just call me Valeria."

Agnes grinned and turned to Jared, "What were you two talking about?"

Valeria turned to Jared with a playful glint in her eye, "But it all depends on whether the Tim Group is willing to let me ride their coattails."

Agnes didn’t know much about business dealings, but something felt off. Valeria’s explanation seemed reasonable, yet something didn’t add up.

She remembered when Valeria claimed she had been let go from the Thomas Group and had no choice but to accept a director position at the Tim Group. That wasn’t the whole truth. Valeria had just wanted to keep her options open.

But things had changed since then. Surely Valeria didn’t have to play the same game again, right?
