Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1204

Jared said, "I've heard a bit about it. The Wilson family controls some of the top media outlets, so Mrs. Wilson has managed to stay out of the spotlight. But after Mr. Wilson passed away, there seemed to be a lot of drama over the inheritance."

Jared's curiosity got the better of him. "How did her name come up all of a sudden?"

"Mrs. Wilson turns out to be Jenny. Do you remember Jenny?" Agnes revealed.

Jared furrowed his brows. How could he forget?

It's rare to see a college sophomore resort to such underhanded tactics to frame someone.

"How could it be her?" Jared was astonished.

"I couldn't believe it myself, but thinking about it, it fits her character. She appears fragile on the outside, but she's stubborn to the core and won't stop until she gets what she wants. I have no clue how she got to know Mr. Wilson, but her experiences over the past few years are enough for a memoir," Agnes shared.

Jared suddenly grew concerned. "She's a cunning woman. So, you're having dinner with her tonight?"

Agnes recounted everything that had happened that day, including Jenny's donation to set up a scholarship at Lakeside College.

And of course, the unexpected encounter with Elton at Cloud View.

Jared's expression grew grimmer as he listened. After pondering for a while, he said, "I think her main purpose for coming back was Elton, but that doesn't mean she's forgotten the past and won't try to harm you."

Agnes had a similar hunch. Jenny was up to something. Showing up out of the blue and asking to meet definitely hinted at an agenda.

"By the way, she and Elton have a child together," Agnes added.

Jenny also started making appearances at various public charity events, becoming a fixture in high society gatherings.

However, her background story had been fabricated. She was now portrayed as a British socialite of Chinese descent, with vague connections to the Royal Family. Her academic credentials were also exaggerated, culminating in a degree from a prestigious university.

Agnes knew these stories were fabricated. Jenny had always been sensitive about her humble beginnings, feeling life had been unfair. Now that she had a chance to reinvent herself, she was going to make sure it was spotless.

To Agnes, this was understandable. Everyone has flaws.

Agnes didn't pay much attention to Jenny's affairs, but her friend Ramona often brought up Jenny, mostly singing praises and expressing admiration. Ramona was also constantly probing about Agnes's relationship with Mrs. Wilson, especially since the whole TV station knew about their past meeting.

Agnes kept her responses minimal. Yet, she couldn't shake off a lingering sense of unease, feeling as if something was about to happen.
