Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1170

As the evening sky began to dim, Bain suggested to Agnes that they have dinner at the restaurant. Agnes declined and stayed in Phenix's room instead. Phenix still doubted Agnes's words.

After a while, Bain brought dinner to their room, but neither of them had much of an appetite. Phenix eventually seemed to grow sleepy again. Bain entered, holding a glass of warm milk, and offered it to Phenix, saying, “Ms. Phenix, drink this milk, and you’ll be able to sleep well.”

Phenix looked a bit downcast. “Bain, is Sean not coming back today?”

Bain replied, “The young master will return tonight, but it might be late.” A spark of happiness returned to Phenix's eyes, childlike in its innocence. Phenix declared, “Then I'll wait for him.”

Bain suggested, “Alright, Ms. Phenix, you've been unwell lately. Perhaps you should drink this milk and get some rest. The young master will surely come to see you once he's back.” Phenix, visibly sleepy, obediently drank the milk.

Time ticked by. Agnes stood on the balcony, the evening growing darker. Her gaze was fixed on the beach. At eight o’clock, there was finally some movement. From afar, Agnes saw a speedboat approaching. But she couldn’t be sure who was on it. Several people disembarked from the speedboat. Even from a distance, Agnes had a feeling. Kearney had arrived.

Agnes didn’t move until the door to Phenix’s room opened. As expected, Kearney appeared. Agnes stepped in from the balcony. Kearney entered alone. He immediately noticed Agnes, but only glanced in her direction before ignoring her. He walked straight to Phenix. Phenix was deeply asleep on the bed. Kearney stood by the bed, bending down. He gently touched Phenix’s hair, his actions as tender as the moonlit sea outside. Finally, Kearney leaned down and kissed Phenix’s forehead. In front of Agnes, Kearney made no attempt to hide his feelings.
