Ryder's words left Agnes dizzy.
So, was he involved or not?
Agnes asked, "Do you know who's framing Jared?"
Ryder turned and said, "You shouldn't be asking me that, because I don't know either. But I think you'll find out soon enough."
The more Ryder spoke, the more confused Agnes became.
What was going on?
"I assume you didn't invite me in just to play guessing games," Ryder said.
Turning around, he added, "Of course not, I'm here to make a deal."
The word 'deal' immediately made Agnes frown.
It wasn't the first time Ryder had proposed a deal.
And since then, their relationship had changed forever.
Back then, Agnes almost broke up completely with Jared, considering moving back overseas to a life of solitude.
So now, hearing 'deal' still sent shivers down her spine.
Like a devil playing a haunting melody.
With a stern face, Agnes asked, "What kind of deal?"
Ryder said, "I've got information on the pharmacist. How about trading your freedom for your uncle's freedom?"
Just as she thought.
Ryder was indeed involved in the drug case.
Even if he wasn't the mastermind, he was an accomplice, or at the very least, he knew something.
Or maybe he was setting a trap, just waiting for Agnes to fall into it.
The look Agnes gave Ryder changed.
After a long pause, she asked, "Ryder, why have you become like this?"
Ryder laughed.
It seemed she had hit his injured arm.
Ryder groaned.
Agnes wanted to step forward but stopped herself.
Ryder was looking down, his bangs hiding his eyes.
He was slightly hunched over, one hand caressing the other arm.
His expression was unclear.
But from Agnes's angle, she could still see the slight upward curve of his lips.
Looking at Ryder like this made Agnes shudder.
"Ryder, I don't care what your conditions are, but I won't leave Jared. No matter what happens next, I'll face it with him. If he's really framed and ends up in jail, then I'll wait for him to get out, or I'll join him."
After saying this, Agnes turned around.
She took a few steps, stopped, and with her back to Ryder, said, "And Ryder, I'm really disappointed in you."
