Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1030

After what felt like an eternity, Agnes finally shook her head in disbelief. "No way, no way... How could that be possible...?"

But the more she said it, the less convinced she felt.

It couldn't be possible, could it?

Yet, both of them shared the surname Albert.

The pub Reggie once opened, Albert's Arms, had an Albert in its name.

When Reggie took her under his wing, he mentioned she reminded him of a dearly beloved person from his past...

The taste of his spaghetti was identical to her mother's...

All these pieces seemed to link together in her mind.

How could there be so many coincidences that fit together so perfectly?

Yet, Agnes had never, ever considered that possibility before.

It seemed too incredible to fathom.

Reggie was Michael.

Reggie was Michael? How could that be?

Slowly rising from her seat, Agnes sat down next to Jared on a stone bench nearby, her spirit seemingly drifting away.

The two sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity.

Once she had calmed down, Agnes tried to organize her thoughts.

The more she thought about it, the more it seemed Reggie and Michael were indeed the same person.

Agnes had always felt there was a story behind the name Reggie, but she never imagined he was the story itself.

Reggie was Michael.

Which meant he was Jared's biological father and the man who had loved her mother, Julia, deeply.

Agnes's emotions were a whirlpool of complexity.

"So, you were there for Reggie?" Agnes suddenly asked.

Jared didn't directly answer her question, instead musing, "All these years, I've been tracking his whereabouts. Reggie has always been elusive, rarely appearing in public. I just wanted to catch a glimpse of him at WORLD international hotel that time. I didn't expect everything that followed."

If not for those events, leading Nocturne and Jared to meet, their relationship wouldn't have evolved to where it was today.

Sometimes, Agnes felt like destiny was a prewritten script.

They were merely actors, following their lines step by step.

Agnes sighed, "So you knew all along."

Finally standing up, Jared said, "Let's go."

"Where to?" Agnes asked, looking up.

"Back to Serenity Hall. Nocturne should be awake by now."

Without another word, Agnes got up, and together, they headed back to Serenity Hall.
