YUNO had questions for Osaki Shohei, but he got distracted when the ground suddenly shook.
When he looked over his shoulder, he was shocked to see Ki Gayoon punching the barrier.
Is he crazy?! If the barrier collapses, the virus will spread!
"System, connect me to Gayoon Hyung— now."
It seemed like the System completely understood Yuno’s urgency because his Status Window appeared right in front of his face.
The screen had turned into something similar to a phone screen.
His Status Window was calling Ki Gayoon’s Status Window, and just like that, the call connected.
Ki Gayoon stopped punching the barrier to answer his call.
And, as soon as he did...
"Hyung, stop acting dumb," Yuno scolded his lover as soon as Ki Gayoon picked up the call. "Do you want the virus to spread, huh?"
"Well, if you’re planning to die by absorbing the virus there, then might as well die with you, along with everyone else here."
Aigoo.
"Hyung, calm down. I’m not going to die."
"Noh Yuno, come out before I lose it."
"Hyung, I’m not done with work yet."
"Noh Yuno." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Tsk.
Yuno was annoyed because it wasn’t like he could ask the System to bring Ki Gayoon inside because it was dangerous.
My body can handle it because I’m used to being a test subject.
To be fair, Ki Gayoon was also experimented on in the past.
But I still think it’s too dangerous for Hyung to be here. The System treats me as someone more important than Gayoon Hyung, so I’m sure the System will not let me die. But I can’t say the same for him.
"Hyung, I’ll be done in 30 minutes."
"Have you gone crazy, Noh Yuno?"
"Then 20 minutes?"
"I’m really going to break the barrier."
"Uhm, fifteen...?"
"Noh Yuno."
"Ten minutes—"
"Five minutes."
"That’s too short, Hyung," Yuno said, sighing. "Seven minutes."
"Alright— wrap it up in seven minutes, or else, I’ll go on a Rampage."
Tsk.
Yuno felt like he had lost the negotiation, but he didn’t want to dwell on that since time was ticking.
I have to finish this in seven minutes.
Hence, he immediately turned around and faced Osaki Shohei again.
"I’m sorry for the distraction. Let’s pick up where we left off," Yuno said in a hurry. "Shohei-nim, there are already countries that have gone through civil war because Espers wanted to get rid of Civilians because those idiots believe Awakened People are superior."
Yes, Awakened People were more special since they had powers.
But the majority of the human population is composed of Civilians, after all.
"Is the goal Ni-ki mentioned similar to that issue?"
"Do you think the Espers who started a civil war in their country just woke up one day and decided that they only wanted to co-exist with their fellow Awakened People?"
Okay, the implication of Osaki Shohei’s words gave Yuno the chill down his spine.
"Are you saying that someone ordered them to do that? To get rid of the Civilians in their countries?"
"It’s not someone— it’s something."
Wow.
Now every single hair in Yuno’s body stood up.
The air inside the medical tent suddenly went colder, giving him goosebumps.
"But why do they want to get rid of Civilians?"
"I don’t know— I didn’t care," Osaki Shohei said. "I didn’t care as long as I got what I wanted."
"To be promoted as an S-Class Guide?" Yuno asked, confused. "But you’re already an S-Class Guide, Shohei-nim."
"I didn’t want to be stronger than an S-Class Guide— I just wanted to be the only S-Class Guide that Haru would ever need."
Aigoo.
"Ni-ki promised me that once I drink the substance that he handed to me, my Mana would change, and Haru would be drawn to me and only to me."
Haaah.
Yuno wanted to say that Osaki Shohei should have known better.
But, on the other hand, he understood the poor Guide’s heart.
Shohei-nim must have been desperate to keep Haru-nim all to himself, but he failed because Haru-nim is very much in love with Sajangnim.
Hence, Yuno just kept his mouth shut instead of blaming Osaki Shohei.
You do things you normally wouldn’t when you’re desperate.
"This is my punishment," Osaki Shohei said, smiling bitterly. "I chose my greed over the safety of our world. I knew Ni-ki was suspicious, but I allowed myself to be fooled. All because I was desperate for Haru’s love."

I’m not trying to be funny.
Again, I’m not trying to be funny...
I have a bad feeling about this.
Likes, some sort of a message for me.
I have a strong feeling that it will get him killed.
