Chapter 251: MEMORY SYNCHRONIZATION (13)

"YIHUN-ah, please absorb us."

Excuse me?

Yihun opened his eyes and turned to Erwan in disbelief. "Hyung-nim, what are you trying to make me do this time?"

Erwan and the rest of his siblings could only smile apologetically at him.

Shit, they’re serious.

Of course, he knew that Erwan wouldn’t mess around in that situation.

Now I’m feeling the pressure.

To be honest, he felt the heaviness of the responsibility that his siblings were putting on his tiny shoulders.

However, that feeling only lasted for a moment.

I’ll never see my siblings as a burden— not after I livedignorantly for the past years without knowing the truth.

"I don’t know how to do it, so please teach me," Yihun said in a cracked voice. He was afraid, yes. But not enough to make him back down. "If saving the last piece of you will help me atone for my sins, even just for a little bit, then I’ll gladly do it."

His siblings exchanged looks as if they were confused, and then they all looked at Yihun with confusion in their eyes.

"Yihun-ah, what do you mean by that?"

"What sin are you trying to atone for?"

"I abandoned you," Yihun said, a lump forming in his throat. "I was living in ignorance all this time. In fact, I even resented you thinking that I was the biggest victim in the Lab. But you were all stuck in this dark, cold, and lonely place..."

Ah, his tears started rolling down his cheeks.

He thought he had no tears left to cry after all the shits that he had gone through in the past.

Yet, here he was now— bawling like a child.

I guess I never matured.

"Yihun, it wasn’t your fault that you didn’t notice."

"Yosef Lee and Charles Kang made sure that you wouldn’t discover their horrible experiment because they knew you had the power to mess up their plan."

"You’re still one of the biggest victims of this Lab."

Ah, dammit.

His siblings were the ones who suffered the most.

And, yet, Yihun was the one who was being comforted.

Why am I like this?

"They shouldn’t have spared me," Yihun complained, his voice cracking as he sobbed harder. He knew it wasn’t fair to say that in front of his siblings, but he couldn’t help it. "We were all raised together in this hellhole— I should have died with all of you."

There, he said it.

Yihun didn’t want to acknowledge that his real siblings were already gone, but he couldn’t deceive himself any longer.

His siblings were dead.

And he was the only one who survived.

"Why did they have to keep me alive?" Yihun complained between sobs, patting his chest hard because he couldn’t breathe. "I don’t want to leave the Lab when I’m the only one who survived. Can’t I just come with you? Hyungs? Noonas?"

"Don’t be ridiculous, Noh Yihun," Janela, the oldest noona, said sternly. "We’re glad that you survived, Yihun-ah. It would have killed us even more if our maknae died with us." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"Noona..."

"We’re going to get the hell out of this Lab together, Noh Yihun," Jacob said firmly. "We may no longer have our physical bodies, but our hearts and Cores are still here."

Because I know I don’t deserve to live after abandoning my siblings.

But that’s something I’d let the future Noh Yihun worry about.

***

OH, HE fainted.

I guess the System’s ’spirit’ already left the child’s body.
