RAIDING the Lab would have been difficult if Moon Noa didn’t have the strongest Espers by his side.
Plus, Kwak Hakjae was a huge help.
It was the Esper Association President and the Espers under his command who were currently fighting with Moon Nam-il’s group.
I’m sure they won’t let my grandfather escape.
Moon Nam-il brought a pretty tough team of Espers as his bodyguards.
I think I saw foreign Espers among Grandfather’s entourage, so he probably hired mercenaries to protect him.
But it was no use.
Even without Ki Gayoon, the remaining members of the country’s Top 5 Espers are unbeatable.
"Noa Hyung, be careful."
Moon Noa was walking in the lobby of the Lab as if he owned the place.
He didn’t feel the need to be that cautious since he was confident with his bodyguard— Ryu Sungbin, the #3 Hunter in the country, second only to Lee Sarang.
To be fair, isn’t Lee Sarang the #1 Hunter now?
After all, Ki Gayoon had refused to cooperate with the government after establishing his own company.
So, Ryu Sungbin is actually the #2 Hunter now, huh?
The Esper Association should update its ranking list after all this mess.
"Noa Hyung, I told you to be vigilant."
Moon Noa wasn’t surprised when Ryu Sungbin suddenly carried him in his arms, and then they shot up until they were almost a few inches away from the high ceiling.
When he looked down, he saw weird shadows on the floor.
Are those monsters?
"Hyung, why is your head in the clouds?" Ryu Sungbin scolded Moon Noa lightly. "We’re in the enemy territory— please be extra vigilant."
"I don’t need the feel to do so when you’re with me, Sungbin-ah," Moon Noa said teasingly, wrapping his arms around Ryu Sungbin’s neck. "After all, I know that you’ll keep me safe no matter what."
Ryu Sungbin blushed. "Hyung..."
CRAAASH.
Their sweet moment was interrupted when they heard a loud crash below them.
Two Espers suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
One of them was on a Rampage while the other was trying to knock out the Rampaging Esper— but to no avail.
It’s no use since only a Guide can calm down an Esper on a Rampage.
"Sungbin-ah, put me down."
"Hyung, are you sure you want to guide that Esper?"
Ah, as expected of my lover— he already knows what I’m about to do.
"I’m an S-Class Guide— I can guide any Esper regardless of whether we have a high matching rate or not."
"That’s not what I’m worried about, Hyung. Can’t you see the masks those people are wearing? They obviously belong to that new rebel group that calls itself ’Rogue Clan.’"
Right.
A few years ago, a rebel group called the ’Rogue Clan’ gained influence. Their goal was to overthrow the government that refused to protect Guides properly. And, oh, they were also fighting for the rights of lower-ranking Espers.
"Of course, I know them, Sungbin-ah."
"And you still want to help them?"
"They are the enemies of the government my grandfather runs— I already like them."
Ryu Sungbin just sighed, but he slowly and carefully descended.
I knew he can’t say ’no’ to me.
"Hansol Oppa, calm down!"
The smaller Esper, who seemed to be a female, had just smashed the bigger male Esper’s face against the floor.
And, yet, the male Esper didn’t get knocked out.
The Rampaging Esper just continued growling as if he had turned into an unintelligent beast.
Well, that happens when Espers lose their minds.
Moreover...
Fortunately, the Rampaging Esper had calmed down a bit and didn’t attack Moon Noa in that state. Well, it wasn’t like the Rampaging Esper could attack him when he was already crushing him with his Mana.
Of course, it doesn’t work on S-Class Espers.
