Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 38

Benjamin pinched the soft flesh on my stomach, and asked bluntly: "Do you think I am a promiscuity man?"

In my impression, he was exactly that kind of man.

No one would believe that Benjamin would cut off his relationships with other women just because he married me.

Seeing my obvious disbelief, he bit my lip punitively, and said in a gentle voice: "Don't let your imagination fly all the way off-rail every day. If I ever had another woman that I like in the future, I'll make sure you are the first one to know about her. After all, you don't like your man being touched by other women, right?"

He was repeating what I said to him that day in the car.

Yes, I hated it, but it was just a psychological effect. Why did he know me so much?

When I was about to ask, Benjamin's phone vibrated suddenly, and he took out the phone from his pocket and looked at it.

I accidentally caught a glimpse of it because I was in his arms.

The caller's name was Victoria.

I didn't know exactly what the relationship between Victoria and Benjamin was. After all, she was in Cietin.

But I knew that, as Sean said, she was the daughter-in-law recognized by the elders of the Dunn family.

Benjamin released the palm of my hand and got up to answer the phone. I heard him say vaguely, "Well, I will leave tomorrow...I will come back. I remember what I promised, you don't have to remind me."

Benjamin hung up the phone and put his cell phone in his pocket casually. He turned to look at me and asked in a gentle tone: "There are three days before New Year's Day. Do you have any arrangements?"

I shook my head: "Not much."

Of course, I did.

Benjamin gave a hum, he put his sight on a cluster of blooming flowers and plants, and faintly complimented: "You did a good job with them."

Following his gaze to find the plant he was talking about, I saw the little blue flower that hasn't changed at all since I moved in.

The faint blue flowers.

The only thing that changed was his mood.

I didn't receive the merit and said modestly: "All I did was watering them. It's a miracle that they haven't frowned yet."

"Right." I could see that Benjamin was totally absent-minded. He went on to say, "I will go back to Cietin on a plane tomorrow afternoon."

Even after I said that I had no plans for New Year, he still wasn't gonna bring me with him.

In fact, I didn't even know what his point was, asking if I had any plans.

I nodded obediently and said, "Okay."

Hearing my answer, Benjamin stretched out his hand and rubbed my head, and said: "Remember to take September with you when you go out."

I looked up at him: "Do you think I will be bullied?"

He said indifferently: "Just in case."

Having said that, Benjamin took out his wallet from his pocket, took out a bank card in it and handed it to me, "Here you are."

A black bank card.

Distinguished VIP.

I was puzzled and asked: "What am I supposed to do with it?"

I didn't take it so Benjamin stuffed it in my hand and explained: "I don't know, do whatever women like to do with money? You are my woman now and it's my obligation to give you some pocket money. What's more, you'd need to have some living expenses when I'm away."

I put it back in his palm and shook my head: "I still have some savings in my own card. Besides, I got everything I need here in the house."

I urgently needed 700,000 dollars, but I was deeply aware that there was absolutely no reason for Benjamin to pay the debt Steve owed.

Benjamin frowned: "Take it."

Benjamin's momentum was very strong, which tolerated no refusal from me. I thought of a tactful way and said: "Then you put it in your bedroom drawer, if there is anything really needed, I'll take it myself."

"Bulls*it!"

Benjamin directly threw the card in my arms and went back to his own room. I was stunned, feeling the card was a hot potato in my hands.

I went back to the bedroom and took out another bank card from my bag. This card was given by Zack to help me.

The other was the one Benjamin gave to his women.

There were huge amounts of money on both cards, but I couldn't use them. The first card meant a lost memory to me while the other was simply a transaction between me and the card-owner.

Benjamin had the responsibility to help me get revenge, but he was not obliged to help me pay off debts.

While I was struggling with this problem, Jeanie called and said in a calm voice: "Charlotte was run over by a motorcycle, and she is now in the hospital."

I asked suspiciously, "Any reason I should care?"

I couldn't imagine that she used to be my mother-in-law.

While sitting in the coffee shop, she put two spoons of sugar in my cup and her cup, and said: "I remember that you like sweet stuff, just like I do, right?"

I frowned and asked bluntly: "What are you trying to say?"

Hearing that, Sharon put down the spoon in her hand and looked at me gracefully and said: "Emma, I'm not gonna beat around the bush and get straight to the point then. I don't want Charlotte to marry Steve."

I looked at her suspiciously, and she smiled heartedly and explained: "I've lived too long to not know what kind of woman Charlotte is. What I'm about to say may not sound too good to you, but... she's the same kind of person as your mother, a gold- digger. She never could be a daughter- in- law of the Hughes family.

If Sharon knew what Charlotte was, what had she been waiting for? As if knowing my doubts, Sharon explained: "I have always heard Steve mention Charlotte before, but I really didn't expect her to be such a person. She is already using Steve's money, the money I've helped him manage, and she is not married to him yet. What do you expect she would do after they get married? I know that I didn't treat you right before, but isn't that the most common case?"

I suddenly understood what she meant. I took a sip of coffee and felt funny and asked: "So now, what do you want to say?"

"I ask you to divorce Benjamin and return to Steve, and I can ignore everything that happened to you and him."

Ignored it? What gave her the idea that she could be so condescending to me?

What gave her the idea that she could treat me however she wanted?

I glanced at her in disgust, put down the coffee in my hand, and asked, "Do you know that your son owes 2.2 million in debt?"

Sharon nodded and said: "That is the joint debt of both of you, so I hope you can use the property you are gonna get from divorcing Benjamin to pay the debts."

Wonderful, abso- f*cking- lutely wonderful! Sharon and Steve were indeed a family, because only they could do such shameless things and had the guts to say it out loud to me.

Not to mention how proudly she said it, as if it were a heroic act of hers.

I rationally analyzed: "Your son has nothing and even has debts, but Benjamin is a rich man with an annual income of not less than ten million. Why do you think I will return to Steve? Wait, I'm gonna be straightforward with you too and ask you a question. Have you gone to the hospital to check your eyes recently? You don't think your son looks like a prince charming, do you?

"You!"

As soon as I started to talk about her son, her face sank almost to the bottom.

Sharon closed her eyes, her angry face instantly piled up with an amiable smile, and said: "Your mother ran over Charlotte. If you don't agree, we will press charges against her. She could well be sentenced to murder rather than hit-and-run."

Charlotte was still in the operation room, and what did she do? She used Charlotte's life as her bargain.

I squinted my eyes and smiled and said, "Do you think your son is any better? He and Charlotte shot a, well, a video in which I wasn't dressed appropriately. If you sue my mother, I'm gonna sue you too."

My phone rang suddenly.

I picked up and heard a deep, sexy voice asking: "Where are you?"
