Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 158

I knew that if I had anymore feelings for him, I'd lose again. But I just couldn't shake off my feelings for him.

"I've never expected you to be someone, but you've been hiding your identity from me for eight years. Did you just want to keep your trump card from me? I can't help feeling that there must be something else that you are hiding from me."

It was true that I lied to him about the existence of Emy.

I asked, "Benjamin, what else do you want to say?"

"Bon voyage."

I killed the child in Victoria's belly, but he didn't question me. What on earth was he thinking?

I closed my eyes and bypassed him to leave.

When I entered the car, I looked at his straight back and said, "Benjamin, we are enemies after all."

He said, "There's no need for that."

Benjamin said indifferently, "The Dunn family, I'll give it to you."

I asked with a smile, "Do you think I want your charity?"

Benjamin said placidly, "Emma, it belongs to my son. Just take care of it for him."

"Benjamin, I will ruin the Dunn family!" I smiled and said softly, "Just like how you destroyed my company!"

He said, "If that's what you wanna do, be my guest."

Benjamin turned around and looked at me calmly. I smiled and said, "See you in a year, Benjamin."

Benjamin said coldly, "That's a long time."

"I've ordered Diego to investigate Teresa's case. If you want to protect her, you'd better start doing it. Time's running out for her."

Benjamin was silent, and I got in the car with a smile.

I wanted to return to City B as soon as I got Ellis to Ireland, but the case would take at least one year to be processed.

The Jenkins family had Diego and other four assistants, and the Jenkins family had Peter, so I didn't need to bother myself at all.

So I might as well stay in Ireland with the two kids.

For me, the most important thing at the moment was to be there for my children. Anything that needed to be approved by me could be solved with an online meeting.

After getting on the car, Ellis asked curiously, "What did dad say to mommy? I seem to have heard Auntie Teresa's name."

"Dad told me to take good care of you and told me to make sure you study hard." I reached out my hand to rub his head and asked, "Do you think you can do that?"

When I drove away, I saw Benjamin's tall and straight figure in the rearview mirror. He always looked at you in a way as if he was wronged, expecting you to soften up.

I recall the scene when I fell into the river that night. He stood in the darkness and looked at me silently.

I must have been pretty drunk that night.

It was an illusion.

And I thought he chose not to save me again.

He was never there. It was just an illusion I forced myself to see so that I'd have an excuse to hate him.

But that night's despair was so inexplicable and real. Was it because I was under too much pressure?

Was it because I put too much blame on Benjamin?

I got a call from Ramiro when I was waiting for Joel at the airport in Ireland. He said confusedly, "Is this an international call?"

"Yes, I'm in Ireland." I wiped the bread on the corner of Ellis's mouth and asked, "What's up?"

"I got my company on the tracks." He smiled happily and said, "I made a lot of money. I called you to pay you back the rent but I didn't expect that you went to Ireland. When are you coming back?"

"Not for a while." I reached out to hold Ellis and said, "It's not a lot of money. You don't have to pay me back."

Ramiro refused, "What? No f*cking way!"

I suddenly said, "Hernando, I've seen you before."

"Emma, I... What... Do you remember Ramiro?"

Ramiro had told me that he had a brother who had lost his life doing extreme sports, which was why he had the opportunity to go back to the Cain family.

But the truth, however horrifying it was, was that Ramiro was the one who lost his life. And the person who approached me as Ramiro was his brother, Hernando.

He was Ramiro's brother, the one who loved

extreme sports. The real Ramiro had been forced to commit suicide by the Cain family.

Such a scene appeared in my mind. When I was at my all-time low, I didn't ask for help from either Zack or Benjamin, the man who hid me in the military camp rather than took me back to his family. I asked for help from a stranger online.

He was not a complete stranger. We had met several times. Ramiro helped me through the most miserable days when I was down and out, but he led a more miserable life than me, just like Hernando said at first, Ramiro ate instant noodles for a few months.

If not completely starving.

Ramiro's life had been very hard and bitter, and he lived more obsequious and cautious. Most of his salary was given to his mother, and a small amount of money was kept for his living expenses, so he was never a big man.

"Hernando. Ramiro chose to commit suicide in front of your father. He never wanted to give himself a way out of it."

"I know, all he wanted was a little bit mercy from my father, but my father... yes, he can only be called my father... He has never thought of Ramiro as his son but a stain on his background, an obstacle preventing him to climb higher up the ladder."

"Hernando, in the years of my amnesia, you should be the only person who remembered Ramiro. Thank you for your kindness."

I wiped the tears in my eyes. Hernando said in a low voice, "He is my brother. How can I forget him?"

I reminded him, "Although your company is getting on tracks, it will still go bankrupt. Your father will never let you do these things."

"I know, I'm going to sell the company and go to Ireland."

I asked, "I'm afraid that's nothing but a whim." "Emma, Ramiro likes you, so I want to protect you." Hernando said after laughing, "I don't have anywhere else to go anyway. I might as well take a trip to Ireland."

"Hernando, can you do me a favor?"

Hernando said, "Sure, what is it?"

I explained, "I am now investigating an old case that happened in Glestin, and your father has some resources in the police station there. Without that kind of help, I would never be able to find the truth and even if I do, there will be someone there to make sure it's not the truth that I want. But if you can't help me, just forget it, I'm not forcing you."

Hernando immediately said, "He's my father, and I can't be angry with him for a lifetime. I'll tell him about it!"

I said gratefully, "Thank you, Hernando."

After hanging up, I took out the water in my bag and handed it to Ellis. I asked, "Are you hungry? Uncle will be here soon."

Ellis took a sip of water and looked at me in surprise. "Do I have an uncle? Why didn't you tell me before?"

"Of course, you do. You have a sister, which means it's just a matter of time before you become an uncle yourself."

Ellis asked hesitantly, "Is uncle handsome?"

I didn't expect that would be his first question about his uncle that he had never seen.

I thought a boy clever as Ellis would ask a somewhat more profound question.

"Will you like uncle if he's not handsome?" I asked him intentionally.

Ellis quickly said, "Yes, because he is my uncle."

"Your uncle has a son, too, a month older than Emy."

"So uncle's child is also Emy's brother?"

I pointed to the distance and said with a smile, "That's your uncle. Go to him."
