I shook my head. "Nothing":

Benjamin raised his eyebrows and asked, "You sure?"

I was silent. Benjamin pinched my palm and said softly, "I know you too well. You are thinking about the past."

Benjamin guessed that I was laughing at what had happened that day.

He was obviously a smart man, but he always broke my heart.

He paused and said, "I remember that I gave you a ring that night."

He lowered his head to look at my fingers and asked softly, "Where is the ring?"

When he asked me to sign the divorce agreement, I took the ring off and put it in the house I rented.

"I left it somewhere. I'll go fetch it tomorrow," I said with a smile.

"Ha." Benjamin sneered. Then he slightly bent over and held me up horizontally, and went straight into the villa.

Benjamin put me on the sofa and stretched out his hand to gently rub my head, and then his fingertips trembled slightly as he untied my dress. I looked into his obscure eyes and asked, "Can't help it?"

Benjamin put his forehead against my forehead, and a cold feeling swept through his body. He explained in a low and hoarse voice, "Mrs. Dunn, you're too beautiful."

I realized he would only say that because he was in love with me at the moment. After all, Teresa and Laurelie, and all other women Benjamin had seen must be way more beautiful than I was.

I saw Benjamin trying to please me, so I wrapped an arm around his neck and raised my body slightly to kiss him between his eyebrows.

Benjamin got up and threw a thin blanket. Then, he turned around and went upstairs. I lay there and gasped for a long time.

When the joy in my heart disappeared, I got up and went to the bathroom to take a bath in hot water. Then I put on the bathrobe and went upstairs.

I saw an unopened door on the second floor. I reached out to open it and saw Benjamin looking out of the window with his back to me.

Outside the window was the vast sea and surging waves.

I sniffed and smelled a whiff of smoke. I thought that Benjamin might be annoyed, otherwise, he would not have sneaked here to smoke alone when I was pregnant.

I grabbed his waist from behind and put my head on his broad back. Then I asked softly, "Are you not happy?"

Hearing this, Benjamin's body stiffened. He stretched out his hand and pushed me away. Then he put out the cigarette in his hand and threw it on the ground. When the smell of tobacco on his body had dissipated, he held me into his arms and carefully said, "I will quit smoking for the time being."

He intentionally skipped my question.

I leaned into his chest and asked again, "Are you upset?"

Seeing that he could not avoid this question, Benjamin answered with a soft "Hmm" and said, "I am having a lot of trouble recently."

"Can you tell me about them?" I asked nervously.
