Goodbye, Mr. Regret novel Chapter 514

Secretary Allen jumped out of the car and hurried to the back seat, calling Timothy’s name several times, but there was no response.

Panic rising, he rushed back into the driver’s seat and sped off toward the hospital.

When the paramedics arrived, Secretary Allen quickly grabbed Timothy’s phone and followed them inside.

As Timothy was wheeled into the emergency room, Secretary Allen pressed the button on his phone, illuminating the screen.

The display froze on a photo of Timothy’s wife. The image was mostly white, and in the glow, Secretary Allen could clearly see smears of blood and fingerprints streaked across the glass.

Was it seeing his wife’s photo that made President Lawson cough up blood?

But it was just a picture—why would he react like that?

In the photo, Mrs. Lawson stood beside four snowmen, her smile as radiant and delicate as a frost flower.

Why did this affect President Lawson so deeply?

Lately, Secretary Allen had learned a bit about what was going on between the couple, and the scene before him filled him with a heavy sadness.

He pulled out his own phone, snapped a picture of Timothy’s screen, then opened Jessica’s messages.

Mrs. Lawson, President Lawson’s got a lot of injuries lately. He just got back into the country, not sure what happened, but he collapsed and is being resuscitated after vomiting blood. He’s in critical condition right now.

After sending the message, he attached the photo he’d just taken.

President Lawson started coughing up blood right after seeing this photo.

Jessica was at her desk, working on character designs for Mr. Smith’s new film. Some details still needed Mr. Smith’s input, so her phone was right beside her computer.

When the message notification popped up, she clicked it open.

It was from Secretary Allen—she hadn’t heard from him in ages.

Timothy… collapsed after vomiting blood?

So, he’d gone back?

Jessica recognized the picture—it must have come from her brother’s social media.

But why would a photograph set him off like that?
