Sylas took a deep breath and exhaled, his expression a bit pale. He closed his eyes, knowing that he had won the first battle, but was likewise very much aware that he was running out of time to get to the second.
There were only about three hours or so until the next wave.
'An hour.'
Sylas took a seat on the Hollow Wing's back, continuing to take deep breaths.
Corpses of the members of the 040 Sanctum were littered around them-the last of them having been personally killed by him-while the vast majority had ended up leaving.
By now, he had definitely exposed the sheer amount of control he had over the Serpentes. But if he hadn't done so, he knew that he would have been screwed over. There was definitely no way he could have defeated two waves of Demons on his own without the 040 Sanctum as a shield.
Sylas' eyes flashed open after exactly an hour passed.
He still had lingering issues from his previous unconscious state, but they were mostly minimal problems... if he didn't push himself too far, that was.
Unfortunately, he didn't have that luxury right now.
He needed to scout.
The Hollow Wing shot into the air and flashed away.
Sylas' eyes darted around as he crossed through one territory after another.
There were 40 Sanctums participating, separated into an irregular grid across the battlefield. Each battlefield was at least 2,000 kilometers across, and accounting for the roughly square to circular shape of the battlefield itself, the diameter was around 12,000 kilometers or so.
It took the Hollow Wing 26 to 30 blinks to cross from one side of the battlefield to the next with its current strength. This allowed Sylas to quickly map out the regions and form an understanding of where all the Sanctums were located.
Now, he could pick his next target more strategically.
Sylas began putting the Hollow Wing into the Hibernation Realm and pulling it out continuously. Although he could have used the Hibernation Halo instead, Hibernation Halo required active use of his Will, while the Hibernation Realm did not.
He had to save his strength where he could, so though it was a little inconvenient and less effective, so long as he wasn't in the middle of battle, this was the better choice for him.
After an hour, he had a full scope of understanding of every battlefield. However, because of his choice, he had also likely been exposed by some of the Sanctums as well.
There was no choice. If he was going to get close enough to tell which Sanctums were where, then he would also be exposing himself to likewise being seen.
This seemed to have made the fact Sylas hid the Hollow Wing useless, but this wasn't the case. π§πβ―ππππππ°π·π¦π.πΈβ΄π
For one, Sylas hadn't been seen by every one of them. Only about 10 or so of the remaining 38 Sanctums now knew he had such a fast method of travel. The problem was that those 10 Sanctums were also the ten most powerful of them-but that was going to have to be an issue for another time.
Second, just because they knew Sylas had the Hollow Wing now, didn't mean they had as much information as those watching from the outside.
From everything they knew, they likely felt that something like the Hollow Wing's blink ability could only be used a limited number of times. They had no idea how continuously he could use it, and many of them believed that he had used up those opportunities to quickly escape them.
