Chapter 1558 Throne of Glass

What made the City of Glass so unique was that it was the perfect core of a warring state. All of its amenities and special features were tailored to military power.

The unique Glasswright Breeder Profession of the city formed a team of beast tamers capable of crafting armies of Glass Beasts, while the beast-taming facilities had characteristics similar to Sylas' own Hibernation Realm, helping them to grow faster and stronger.

In fact, the Glassirith Sylas had stolen from here the last time he stepped foot into this place was only dormant because the city hadn't been claimed yet. So long as Sylas claimed the city, not only could he build an army of beast tamers, but there was a ready-made army right here already prepped to be born.

Back then, Sylas had snatched up a newborn, and he didn't have the unique ability to accelerate the power growth of these Glass Beasts in particular.

But from what he could tell with his Rune Mastery, if he allowed the beast-taming facilities to do as they should, every one of the few hundred eggs and incubators they had right now would produce a Silver King Beast.

Would it take time and resources? Yes. But Sylas didn't lack resources at all. If anything, he was almost too rich right now.

This beast-taming facility was just one of the unique aspects of the City of Glass. There were still three other important tidbits-four if one counted the Nexus itself.

The first were the defenses of the city. From what Sylas could tell, as a Silver City, the City of Glass was already far beyond its peers. The fact it spawned not as a Town like Sylas had thought, but as a Grade One City from the very start, made those defenses even more exaggerated. However, the fact it was uniquely of Glass made those defenses even crazier.

The militiamen this City of Glass was able to spawn would all be of exceptional quality. Not only would they have strengths similar to that of the armies Sylas defeated, there would be more spawns per cycle, and each one would have a unique affinity.

This parlayed itself into the unique Class Steles this City came with as well.

Sylas could practically hand out Silver Classes like candy. There would be no need for a Class Quest at all.

And that led to the third point, the armory-or, rather, the second unique Profession of the city, that being the Glasswright Blacksmiths.

Sylas had looked over their armor templates. Though they weren't very good at making blades or weapons, they were exceptional at making armors and area-defense measures. It would be like walking out into every battle with walking tanks. And if you matched that with the Glass Beasts, well... you'd have a cavalry of tanks.

Finally, there was the last point.

Sylas stood in front of the City Stele, a Throne of Glass planted firmly right beneath it.

Winds gently glided across his skin, and he felt that there was something particularly warm about this region despite the fact it was designed to have the greatest chill.

Sylas walked by it and then slowly sat on the Throne.

Usually, a City Lord was tied to their city. These restrictions loosened the higher the rank of the city, but even as a Grade One Rudimentary City, Sylas would have to return once in a while.

Cassarae was only able to escape this because of the Petals of the Seeing Thorn. Her recruitment had allowed her some exceptions, but even she was running into the end of that rope very soon.

What was so fascinating about this City of Glass was that... there was more than one way to conquer it.

A way that didn't rely on the system at all.
