It seemed that the Tiers of Madness Disciple became exponentially more difficult with every step you took. It was no wonder the little girl said that she would make it easier.

All that said, she probably wasn't talking about the Genes, but instead the Seed requirements. Whatever Seed Manifestation was, he hadn't reached it yet even with his Pride Seed. But he had a feeling that it was a tall order to reach.

Raising a palm, Sylas drew another Legendary Wisdom Gene.

“Tell me what a Reaper Sealwright is."

“You know what a Sealwright is already. A Reaper Sealwright has a special connection with life and death itself. They can not only feel seals but feel what extends beyond them.

“The strongest Sealwrights imbue their Locks with Wills of their own, and these Wills are passed down from generation to generation. The existence of these Wills usually makes Gene Locks especially powerful even when a Race is declining.

"By the time Gene Locks of this caliber begin to deteriorate, so little of the original Race remains in their descendants that there is nothing to gain by breaking their Gene Locks in the first place.”

Sylas' eyes flickered as he suddenly came to a realization.

Just now, he had felt that there was something particularly broken and fragmented in their bodies. It seemed that this must be an example of a Gene Lock that had deteriorated after their descendants weakened too considerably.

But if what the little girl was saying was true, then that meant that a Reaper Sealwright would have a unique ability to sense these.

Suddenly, Sylas thought of Gogo's Gene Locks. Those were a very different form. They weren't the simplest form of Gene Lock only designed to stop others from taking what wasn't theirs. Gogo's Gene Locks, though, were like chains on his body, hiding his true potential from both himself and the world.

In the most recent Gene Lock Sylas had undone, he had received a vision from Gogo's Ancestor. Could it be that... this was what Reaper Sealwrights would be capable of? Back then, Sylas had been able to use that vision to improve his comprehension. In fact, that had laid the foundation for awakening his True Pride Seed. The Pride Gogo's Ancestor had embodied was buried deep within him even now.

It was because Sylas had so clearly understood what Gogo's Ancestor wanted that he wasn't in a rush to help Gogo improve. If it wasn't perfect, it wouldn't be worth it. However, Sylas could only grasp those aspects of Gogo's secrets because he was a Vipermancy. But when it came to literally anyone else, he wouldn't be able to do much of anything.
