It only took a few more minutes before Sylas got what he wanted out of Sanzi.

It turned out that he was from a Race known as the Boros Race. However, their origins were very interesting... especially when Sylas learned that they had a strong connection with a B+ Race known as the Ouro Race.

The connection between the two, and the word Ouroboros certainly came to mind. And it was because of this Sylas knew he had to let Sanzi go at least for the time being.

The Boros Race had the ability to split their Wills. Their strength was usually dictated by the number of Boros Links in their hair. Each new addition was like an additional life. Unless one could wipe out all of their Wills at once, they would be able to live again. And because of this, they were able to split their Wills away from themselves and form incredibly lifelike clones, recreations, and illusions.

Even Sylas hadn't seen through the fact Sanzi was a fake from the start. And it wasn't until he began looking around that he found Sanzi's real body sneaking up on him.

Sanzi was quite clever, though. The form he chose was very human-like while he himself was very much not human. It was clearly a ploy to get Sylas to feel more sympathy and lower his guard more.

This was why Sylas chose not to kill Sanzi. Aside from the fact he felt going so far was unnecessary, this level of control over Wil, its splitting, and illusions, likely meant that even if he killed Sanzi here, there was no telling if the Boros Race, or the Ouro Race behind them, would be able to find out it was him.

Sylas wasn't someone who ever acted without thinking. He killed Kraziel and Veyric not because he was too furious to control his temper, but instead as a calculated risk.

Yes, it would make him an enemy of the Veil Humans, but he had already calculated that the odds the B-tier would be able to send substantial information was low. And the deaths of those two would be precisely what forced the B-tier to overextend himself and suffer the backlash of the system.

This death would do nothing for him, though. If anything, it would only bring more trouble.

The Ouro Race was a B+ Race with very similar ability to the Boros, but their Will actually had what Sanzi called an Immortal Character. Not only could they split them numerous ways, but their Wills would also slowly recover at the same time.

Essentially, if an Ouro split their Wills once, over time it would grow into two independent Wills of the same strength, different from the Boros whose split in Wills only had one main Will and several lesser Wills.

If a Boros lost their main Will, they could choose a lesser Will to make their main, but it would require even more sacrifices on top of that.

That wasn't all for the Ouro Race either. This Immortal Character also made their Wills especially difficult to damage, and their Will recovery was off the charts.
