Sylas felt the world shifting around him, a frown furrowing his brows.
He recalled that when he first teleported cross-galaxy, he went from the Milky Way to the Golden Grove's world. It was because he hadn't reacted poorly to this teleportation despite it being his first time that he ended up entangled with Megean and Old Brama in the first place.
It could be said, then, that Sylas had very great resistance against long-distance teleportation. And yet, even he was feeling a small hint of motion sickness right now.
It was fleeting, and he immediately adjusted, but he also couldn't help but narrow his eyes. If he was reacting like this, Jala and Alex would definitely not handle it well. Compared to back then, his two Progenitor Flame Abilities had progressed substantially. Just how far were they going for him to react in this way?
This also confirmed something else for Sylas. This was, indeed, no normal Dungeon. There were no adverse teleportation effects for normal Dungeons because there was no distance to travel. It was more accurate to say that you were stepping into a new room of sorts.
The fact they were teleporting meant that something here was very different.
He remembered that this was supposed to be a Dungeon that connected with other Dungeon gates. It seemed that everyone who entered was being transported to a new place.
But there was too little he understood. And somehow, he was going to have to complete it all within—.
Hm?"
Sylas' thoughts were suddenly interrupted as he noticed something odd.
“Time dilation. Is that the real reason I felt such vertigo?"
Sylas realized he had been overthinking things. The reason he had felt dizzy wasn't because of the teleportation—though that was certainly happening and it was quite the distance at that. The real reason he was feeling a sense of disorientation he had to quickly recover from was because time was shifting around him.
The irony was that if Sylas wasn't so sensitive to Spacetime in the first place, he wouldn't have even noticed.
Teleportation was something that could disorient anyone because everyone had a certain interaction with space and acceleration. However, while the mind naturally understood many things about space, time wasn't so easy to comprehend.
It wasn't intuitive to someone that time slowed the closer to the speed of light you went, but the feeling of acceleration was innate to everyone.
The good news was that there was hope his teammates wouldn't be completely incapacitated after the teleportation was through.
The even better news was that there was a strong time dilation. If Sylas was correct, a week or so here was worth about a day to the outside world.
