Daniel grinned and asked, “Hector, what brings you to Cloudcrest?”

Hector nodded, “I’m here to find a mentor.”

“A mentor?” Daniel’s eyes widened in surprise. “Who are you looking for?”

Hector took out his phone and opened a video for Daniel.

It was a racing video.

After watching it, Daniel grew animated. “Hector, I know who this is!”

“Who is she?” Hector was just as excited.

Daniel continued, “That’s Ms. Rebecca Morris!”

Daniel had once asked Rebecca directly about this racing video, and she’d admitted it was her.

Hector came from a powerful family. With his support, Rebecca could definitely help the Morris Group rise again!

Hearing this, Hector immediately grabbed Daniel’s arm. “Daniel, take me to meet her—right now!”

Daniel hesitated. “It might not work today. The Morris family’s had a bit of trouble lately, and she’s busy moving. How about tomorrow? We can meet at Comfort Cafe.”

Hector was eager to become her student, but he wasn’t desperate enough to push it. He nodded. “Alright, I’ll go see Sherman first.”

After saying goodbye to Hector, Daniel wasted no time sharing the good news with Rebecca.

Rebecca’s heart leapt at the news.

She knew all about the Holt family.

They were just as influential as the Robinsons.

With both Hector and Daniel backing her, what could she possibly have to fear?

Still, despite her excitement, Rebecca kept her composure and hesitated. “Daniel, my family’s just gone through a lot. I honestly don’t have the headspace to talk about racing right now. Maybe you should tell Mr. Holt to head back.”

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to talk about racing.

Without the help of her “system,” she didn’t actually know how to race.

If Hector ever asked her to show off her driving skills, at least she’d have an excuse ready.

The three of them sat down, chatting over coffee. Daniel steered the conversation toward the Morris Group.

Hector said warmly, “Ms. Morris, you have nothing to worry about. Your problems are my problems. I promise I’ll help the Morris Group regain its former glory!”

As long as he could become her student, helping out with this was no big deal.

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief.

Rebecca felt a rush of satisfaction.

She knew it—she wasn’t destined to end up in some rundown apartment.

Just then, a sharply dressed man in a suit approached their table and stopped, bowing slightly. “Mr. Holt.”

Hector looked up in surprise. “Executive Assistant Chase? What are you doing here?”

Chase produced a tablet and explained, “Mr. Christensen sent me. He wants you to watch this video and warns you not to be deceived. The real racer is someone else—Ms. Morris has no connection to it whatsoever.”

With that, Chase turned to Daniel.

“Mr. Robinson, Mr. Christensen also asked me to deliver a message: Being foolish isn’t your fault, but making a spectacle of yourself in public definitely is.”
