Before she could process it, the stage door opened and Hudson walked out in a black suit.
Seeing him, her fears vanished. She ran toward him with a beaming, radiant smile.
“Hudson!”
She went to throw herself into his arms, but he put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
“What is it?”
Amara looked up at him, her expression full of confusion.
Hudson turned slightly, a cold smile on his lips and eyes like frozen obsidian.
“Don’t be in such a rush. Look at the screen first.”
“Is this the surprise you promised me?”
Hudson gave a short, clipped “Yes.”
Amara smiled and looked up at the massive LED screen behind him.
The image that appeared made her blood run cold; her smile died as her face turned ash- white.
The crowd erupted into gasps as the guests began to whisper in absolute shock.
On the screen.
Amara was seen walking out of her bedroom in a sheer nightgown.
Then the simulation of Ronald’s voice filled the room, and she began to scream.
She looked haunted, her face a mask of pure, unadulterated terror.
“Get away from me…”
“Ronald, stop! Leave me alone! Don’t come closer!”
“I didn’t kill you! It was Lyndon! He’s the one who did it! Go after him!”

“I already killed Lyndon for you! I got revenge! Just leave me be! Stop haunting me!”
The high-def audio and video captured every detail of her frantic, terrified confession.
Amara swayed on the stage, looking like she was about to collapse.
The murmurs in the hall grew into a roar of condemnation from the crowd.
“The rumors were true. She and her lover murdered the Faith heir together.”
“They grew up together! Childhood friends, and Ronald was her husband! How could she be so evil?”
“But she confessed to killing Lyndon too? She took out her husband and her lover? What for?”
“Isn’t it obvious? Look at her. She spent weeks telling everyone she was the next Mrs. Walter.”
“She killed Ronald for Lyndon, then killed Lyndon to get to Hudson! She’s a godd*mn black widow!”
Amara was shaking violently, her lips trembling as she searched for words.
“It’s not… it’s not like that… you have to listen to me!”
“Lyndon… he forced me! He made me do everything! I was a victim!”
Suddenly, the screen flickered to a new image, cutting her off.
It was a slideshow of explicit photos of Amara and Lyndon Spenser.
Dim lights, candles, intimate poses…
The images left no doubt about the true nature of their long-term affair.
“Forced? She looks like she’s enjoying herself quite a bit in those.”
“Jesus-she was the Faiths’ daughter-in-law. How many times did they meet in secret?”
“There’s probably more than just those. She’s been playing everyone.”
From the balcony, Bastian Hamlet’s voice rang out with a mocking, lethal edge.
“Ms. Hoyt, I paid a fortune to foreign tabloids for those. Are you happy with your gift?”
With her lies stripped bare, Amara’s panic turned into a desperate, cornered rage.
