Forced Marriage To The Secret Billionaire novel Chapter 36

AUTHOR'S POV

“ What if I do? What are you going to do? Are you going to kill me? ” He scoffed and his eyes went wide after realising what he just said.

Silence fell between them. It was thick, it was suffocating and it was horrible for Silas.

Sara's eyes watered up, a specific memory coming back to haunt her.

' Now you are a good girl. ' She could hear a voice whispering in her mind. She could feel the hot, wet blood on her hands too.

Folding her arms over her chest, Sara tried to shake off the image from her mind.

“ Sara. ” Silas called out to her cautiously and sat up when she didn't say anything for the longest time.

He knew what she might be thinking, living right now.

“ Don't raise your voice at me... ” Sara warned him and blinked back the tears from her eyes.

“ I will kill you if you do. ” Her voice softened up as she added, laying down on the bed and turning her back at him.

A tear slipped past her eyes tracing her nose and falling off the tip. She wiped it away harshly.

“ It's not the first time I will kill someone anyway. ” She mumbled quietly under her breath. She was sure that Silas had not heard her but he did and it made him furious.

He wanted to go to her and tell her that she had not killed anyone but he didn't do it. He just sat on the couch, his eyes gazing at her back.

No matter what they both did, they always ended up being each other's enemies because they had kept too much in the dark. Silas knew this.

Until he and Sara got rid of these secrets, they were never going to be able to trust each other. But the truth was...

You needed trust even before telling others anything.

Sara didn't trust Silas and he didn't trust her either.

He loved her but he didn't trust her to stay in control of herself. Vengeance had turned her into a person who only cared about destroying people even if it meant she had to destroy herself in the way.

Nothing could stop her. Nothing.

And Silas had made his decision. He would get her what she wanted.

He sighed and rubbed at his temples as he shook off all thoughts from his head. He was the one who was making things worse between Sara and him. He needed to control his anger better.

Sara opened her eyes after a while and sniffed lightly. Was he again trying to sleep without covering himself up? She glared at the wall as she cursed at him in her mind.

“ It's cold! ” She stated as a matter of fact.

Silas lifted his head after bringing his hand down. Her back was still facing him so he was unable to see her face.

“ So? ” He couldn't help the smile which fought it's way up his lips.

He guessed there was still some hope left because she was putting her ego aside. She was worried about him and it was something huge for Silas.

“ I won't look after you if you fall sick again. I don't do such things. ” Sara reasoned out, her eyes still trying to drill holes in the wooden wall.

Seconds turned into minutes.

Minutes turned to hours.

He was mesmerised but most of all, he felt remorse. He had been hurting her lately when all he wanted to do was to protect her with his life and love her to the end. He never thought a time would come when he would start behaving like this - Like a sulking little child.

He breathed deeply and continued staring at her. He wished she was facing him so he could see her face right now. He wanted to stare at her until time withered away.

As if his prayer was answered, she turned toward him and a smile came to rest upon his lips.

He stared at her closed eyes. Her eyelashes were long and thick.

His eyes travelled down to take in her straight soft nose and then her heart shaped lips. He felt an urge to kiss her but he didn't act upon it.

Pushing his hand forward, he traced her cheekbone with his thumb slowly. His feathery touch made her lean into his hand and sigh out.

Leaning in unconsciously, Silas let his face rest close to her. His thumb continued tracing circles on her cheeks.

“ I am sorry. ” He whispered to her and dragged his tongue across his lips.

“ I am sorry for everything. I never wanted to shout at you. ” He leaned closer to land a kiss on her forehead.

“ Ungrateful bitch. ” Sara mumbled suddenly, making him sigh to himself.

She was never sleeping. He must take notes.
