AUTHOR'S POV

Silas stared at her without blinking his eyes as Sara stared back with much intensity.

She looked dumbfounded but angry at the same time.

Slowly, she raised her hand and Silas's eyes followed her movement wondering what she was going to do.

Was she going to slap him again? Thinking of him as Silas this time?

He gulped but her hand politely landed on his forehead as a frown of concentration made it's way up her forehead.

She sighed out as she pulled her hand back.

“ The fever is gone I think. ” She mumbled to herself as her eyes closed again.

What just happened? Silas was wondering about it.

Did she just wake up to see if he had fever and she fell asleep again? He frowned and leaned in toward her to see if she was really sleeping.

“ If you kiss me again, I will poison your food for sure. ” She warned with her eyes still closed and Silas had to lean away from her.

She was unpredictable.

“ What will you offer me? ” She spoke again and Silas found himself getting confused.

It seemed like she had fever now. She was talking weird.

“ What ar- ” Silas started but when Sara opened her eyes again, he closed his mouth instantly.

Her eyes looked tired and red. There were dark circles under those eyes.

“ You have to give me something for making me take care of you like this. Don't think I did it for free. ” Sara spoke slowly, her frown deepening.

She had to pretend to be like this so Silas never found the chance to mock her about this. She was not the type to take care of people and now she was scared that Silas would think of himself as important to her.

She didn't want him to misunderstand the situtaion.

She took care of him so desperately because there was no one else to do it. She had a hard time brainwashing herself with this lie.

“ Tch. ” Silas leaned closer, his nose touching hers.

“ Body! ” He whispered and Sara narrowed down her eyes before leaning away from him.

“ What? ” She spat, her heart starting to beat out of ryhthm again.

Stupid heart, she thought and focused back on Silas who was staring her down intensely.

“ I just have this handsome face and this great body. Take it. Take all of me baby. ” He spoke fiercely as he tried hard to not laugh at her disgusted expressions.

It seemed like all the embarassment was gone.

“ I think I made a mistake. ” Sara shook her head in disappointment in front of him while her heart was busy trying to break out of her rib cage.

“ It was such a good opportunity to get rid of you. ” She sighed out dramatically and pushed herself off his side.

Maybe, he really did cross the line.

Why did he feel so angry? He didn't know but he was tired of not knowing why she was doing all of this in the first place.

Or perhaps, he was angry because she was putting up with that DEVIL to get what she wanted. He didn't like that. He tried to fool her but it turned out, he fell into the grave he dug.

He was getting angry at himself for creating these double roles. He wanted her to trust him and come to him when she was facing any problems. He didn't want her to go running to other people without knowing it was him.

“ And they are not my family. They killed my MOTHER ” Sara hissed out, her rage taking over her rational thinking all at once.

She never said it out aloud before. She never talked to anyone about this. Never.

This was off-limits. This topic was taboo. She had to keep this as a secret buried in her heart.

“ What? ” Silas frowned, his heart skipping a beat.

“ The Lexingtons caused my mother's death when I was ten years old. ” Sara revealed to Silas who was shocked and confused at the same time.

He expected everything - everything but not this.

Silas didn't know what to say anymore. He could just watch her standing in front of him with her eyes shining with anger. He really ended up hurting her sore spot in anger.

He regretted it deeply but words were like an arrow. If shot once, they can never come back. They will hit the target and cause immense pain.

He sighed out and looked down not knowing what to do to fix it.
