AUTHOR'S POV
A blindfold was tied around her eyes and she was dropped back to the place they thought as her home. She could not know where that place was now. The place where she was at just an hour ago.
And who was that man? This was another question that was unanswered.
She didn't want to think about any of this. She didn't even know how she was still standing outside the house she had to call her home. She was in a trance.
Whenever she looked down at her hands, she could see only blood.
Whenever she started thinking, Gabriel's sinster face flashed before her eyes.
She wanted to cry and scream and then cry again but she was unable to do even that.
What had she done? She had asked herself this question repeatedly as guilt drowned her.
Sometimes, an evil voice in her mind whispered that a man like Gabriel deserved to die, but her rational mind was against that whisper. No one...
No one in this world deserved to die or even if they did, she was not the one who could decide if they deserved to die or not. She was not good herself.
Taking in a shaky breath, Sara strolled to the main door and decided to rush to her room before Silas saw her. She didn't want to face him at all. She didn't know how to look in his eyes anymore.
If he ever got to know that a man tried to rape his wife, was he going to feel disgusged by her?
And what if he found out that she killed that man? Was he going to hate her?
Sara's hand hanged in the air right above the doorknob as fear crawled up her spine.
Why did she even care so much about what Silas was going to think about her? It was an easy way to get rid of him.
She turned the doorknob and rushed to the stairs, before climbing up them and reaching the room. She looked around for a moment but he was not anywhere.
Sighing in relief, Sara opened the door to her room and gasped out instantly. There he was...
He was sitting on her bed with his arms folded over his chest and his eyes closed like he was sleeping in a sitting position. Unconsciously, Sara tugged at the neckline of the dress she was wearing.
“ You are finally home. ” He sighed out and opened his eyes slowly.
Sara stared at him and took notice of how red his eyes looked. He looked extremely tired like he didn't sleep the whole night. A lump formed in Sara's throat as all emotions slowly started to overwhelm her.
It was too hard to look in his eyes, but when his gaze travelled to her neck, Sara forgot how to breath. Her eyes went wide in horror and the fear that he was going to think the worst, made her head spin.
Even if she didn't accept him as her husband, she still would never cheat on him. That's the only thing she could never do to him.
His expressions changed as a frown etched between his eyebrows.
He was going to accuse her now.
He was going to think that she cheated on him.
He was going to lash out on her.
“ Are you alright? Did something happen? ” That was the last question, Sara expected from him. No. Not even the last. She never expected him to ask something like this.
“ Get out. ” She whispered in a hushed tone, wanting him to get away from her as soon as possible.
He was only here for money and power. He got it. He got what he wanted and she wouldn't let him take something more from her. Never.
She listened to her heart for once and landed in trouble, she was never going to do it again.
Silas left her wrist gently and turned around before storming out of her room silently.
Sara closed the door with a loud thud and sat down on the floor beside it. She was feeling numb inside. Everything was just too much for her. She wished her Mom was here. Mom always knew what to say to her to make her feel better.
“ I miss you Mom... ” Sara whispered out and pulled her knees to her chest to place her head over them.
If Lexington's had not caused her Mom's death, she would still be a normal, cheerful and happy girl but those Lexingtons never cared about anything.
All of them...
All of them just cared about one thing and one thing only.
That was...
Lexington Corporation.
She was going to take it away from them. She was going to take it away even if she had to sell her soul to the devil.
She needed to snatch it away from them, so they get to know what it's like to lose something you care about.
