Forced Marriage To The Secret Billionaire novel Chapter 1

AUTHOR’S POV

~A FEW MONTHS LATER

Sara watched Grandfather Albert carrying Nathan away to the lunch table set outside in the lawn.

Today was an official family lunch Grandfather Albert organized for Nathan’s birth.

He was born a month ago. The last few months were difficult for Sara because of all the sickness, fatigue, pains, cravings and harsh mood swings but Silas was always by her side.

He always took care of her and even got kicked out once from the house because he refused to let her eat more chocolate ice – cream and made her cry.

Like Grandfather Albert promised, he threw him out of their home when Sara complained but she missed him after one day and he was called back on her request.

After some difficult months, Nathaniel Alexander was born. Their baby boy with forest green eyes resembling Sara’s and the rest of the features resembling Silas’s. He was a copy of Silas with Sara’s eyes.

The moment he was born, Sara didn’t know why she cried for one day straight but Silas was still there to calm her down and when he couldn’t calm her down, Grandfather Albert did.

In these months, she never cared about Lexingtons and never thought about them much.

She did go to meet Rowan once. She wanted to ask him if there was any other reason except for inheritance behind everything he did.

It turned out, Rowan’s real father worked for Grandfather Magnus. Once, he took the fall for Grandfather Magnus’s corruption and he committed suicide. His father was all Rowan had and after his father’s death, Grandfather Magnus took him in because he pitied the young boy.

Rowan and Sara’s goal was quite similar but the only difference was the turn their fates took. Sara found Silas who pulled her out of the darkness consuming her, but Rowan had no one so he was now in prison.

The rest of the Lexingtons had left the country, running away to save their faces. Lexington Corporation had fallen apart, only fragments of it left behind.

Grandfather Magnus was left alone here. Sara thought of visiting him but it was too late.

Grandfather Magnus passed away a week ago. There was no one attending his funeral so Silas asked Sara to do it which she did.

Just a last favor for the dead.

With Grandfather Magnus’s death and the Lexington family’s disappearance from her life, all the negativity was gone.

Instead of dwelling upon hate, Sara opened up her heart for love. Silas, Grandfather Albert and Nathan’s love.

She loved her family.

Family word still sounded weird to her because she never imagined having a genuine family one day. A family which will be built upon love, respect and appreciation.

Everything was complete – fallen into the right place.

Sara sighed, standing in the balcony of Silas and her own room. She watched the scene unfolding down in the garden.

Grandfather Albert was playing with her one month old son.

Suddenly, two strong arms coiled around her waist making her smile instantly.

“ You still think too much, baby. ” Silas whispered in her ear, his hold loose around her waist.

She wanted her son to know only love and kindness. In this mission, Silas was always going to be by her side and he would make sure to ease out everything for her.

Her eyes teared up looking at Nathan’s small face. Slowly, his eyes closed as he started snoring lightly. His fists were curled up in a protective gesture, making Sara smile through the tears.

Whenever she looked at Nathan and then at her family, she felt like crying in delight.

“ Ma’am. A man at the gate left this for you. ” The Guard pushed his hand forward, addressing Sara.

Sara let the Nanny carry Nathan for a moment as she grabbed the box and envelope from the guard’s hand. She inspected the small jewelry box before she opened it and found a silver gold dove necklace peeking back at her.

She recognized the necklace easily.

Hurriedly, she placed the box on the table and teared open the envelope, reading the papers inside.

She didn’t need to ask who that man was. She knew who came.

She placed everything down and rushed toward the main gate.

“ Where did the man go? ” She passed by the guard on the gate and asked in a hurry.

“ That way, Ma’am. ” The guard pointed toward the right so Sara didn’t waste a minute in getting out to find him.

She saw his back from afar. Walking forward, she decided to call out. “ Dad! ”
