Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 365

Damien placed his hand on Grace’s head, stroking it gently.

“Silly girl.”

His voice was deep and rich, carrying a power that put her at ease.

He pulled her up and sat her on his lap, their foreheads touching.

“What curse? That’s just an excuse weak people use for their own incompetence.”

“If you’re a curse, then I’m the man who’s more than happy to be haunted by you for the rest of my life.”

Grace chuckled, tears still clinging to her eyelashes. “Who compares themselves to a junk collector?”

“As long as I can have you, I’d be happy as a beggar.”

Damien kissed the corner of her eye, his expression turning serious. “Grace, don’t worry about what those old fossils say. I’m the one who calls the shots in the Clarke family.”

“As for bloodlines…”

A fierce glint flashed in Damien’s eyes. “If that’s a curse, then I’ll bear it. You just need to keep moving forward, do the research you want to do, build the career you want to build. I’ll slay all the demons for you.”

Grace wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, greedily inhaling the scent of tobacco and mint on him.

“Damien, you said it. If one day you can’t handle it…”

“That day will never come.”

Damien captured her lips, silencing all her insecurities.

“Ring—”

The desk phone rang.

“The phone…”

Grace, blushing, tried to push Damien away.

“Ignore it.”

He leaned in to kiss her again.

“Mr. Clarke,” Felix’s voice came through the speakerphone. “Dorian is here.”
