Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 325

At the Clarke family headquarters.

A piercing alarm suddenly blared through the building.

“What’s happening?!”

“The firewall has been breached!”

“Core data is being leaked! Cut the network connection, now!”

Chaos erupted.

Grace sat at the main console, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she tried to intercept the unknown data stream.

“Ms. Hart, please stop what you’re doing.”

A large hand pressed down on her keyboard.

It was the head of the Clarke family’s Internal Affairs department, Graham Walters. He was flanked by four uniformed security guards, their expressions grim.

Grace didn’t look up.

“I’m running damage control. Give me three more minutes, and I can trace the other party’s IP address.”

“That won’t be necessary.”

Graham sneered, throwing a stack of printed log records onto the desk. “We’ve already traced the IP. It originated from this lab, from this computer, under your account.”

“Grace, you’re under suspicion of selling corporate secrets. You need to come with us.”

The air in the room instantly froze.

The researchers who had once respected her immediately started whispering among themselves.

“I knew it. What good could ever come from the Hart family?”

“I heard her old academic papers were all plagiarized.”

“You really can’t judge a book by its cover. And after Mr. Clarke was so good to her…”

Grace’s fingers curled into a fist.

“I didn’t do it.”

She stood up. Her movements were slightly slow due to her injured leg, but her back was perfectly straight. “This is a frame-up. My account was hacked.”

“You can save that for the police,” Graham said impatiently, waving a hand. “Take her away! And search her personal belongings. This new energy project is the lifeblood of the Clarke family. If anything goes wrong, ten of your lives wouldn’t be enough to pay for it!”

A guard roughly shoved her.

Grace stumbled, her left shoulder slamming into the corner of a desk. She sucked in a sharp breath against the pain.

“Don’t touch me.”

The issuer was none other than the Clarke family’s biggest competitor, NovaDyn Energy Group.

“Twenty million?” a portly board member sneered. “Ms. Hart, your price has certainly gone up.”

Grace stared at the check.

A clumsy frame job.

But to this group of profit-driven people, it was irrefutable proof.

She looked at Damien.

If even he…

“Explain.”

Damien stopped twirling the pen and looked at her.

Just one word.

Grace took a deep breath and spoke in a steady voice. “It wasn’t me. I can retrace the technical steps. I was running a model at that time and had no opportunity to send an email. As for the check… it would only take two seconds to slip something like that into a locker.”

“Retrace your steps? The data has already been leaked! What good will that do?!”

The portly director slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet. “Damien, this is the person you fought so hard to protect! The Clarke family’s core energy parameters are gone! How are we supposed to hold the press conference tomorrow? Who is going to cover this loss?!”
