Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2915

Sylvia was a little moved. “Thank you for your concern, Nash. But it’s really not as serious as you think—I know what I’m doing.”

Nash frowned. “Just now at the dinner table, Mr. Bard struck me as someone with a military background—distinguished, disciplined. I thought he might be an exception. I didn’t expect him to make a move on you so quickly.”

Sylvia fought back a smile, sneaking a somewhat guilty glance at the man sitting on the sofa, before responding with a light laugh, “It was my decision. I’m the one who admires Mr. Bard.”

Nash looked at her in surprise.

Sylvia nodded. “Honestly, I think Mr. Bard is wonderful. I just want to see if I have a chance—maybe make him my boyfriend? So, Nash, there’s no need for you to feel bad. If anything, I should thank you for giving me this opportunity!”

Nash was startled by her words and lowered his voice. “Ms. Jarvis, you’re smart. Why do something so impulsive? This Mr. Bard—he clearly isn’t an ordinary man.”

Sylvia raised an eyebrow, a playful smile on her lips. “So you think I’m not good enough for him, Nash?”

“That’s not it,” Nash replied hurriedly. “With your talent and looks, you could easily end up with a successful man or someone from a prominent family. But Mr. Bard’s background—he might be in a league most of us don’t even have access to.”

He added quickly, “I’m just looking out for you. I’m worried you might fall too fast and end up getting hurt.”

Sylvia hesitated, then gave a helpless smile. “It’s too late, Nash. I’ve already fallen for him.”

Nash pointed at her in exasperation. “You young lady!”

Sylvia burst out laughing. “Young lady?”

Nash assumed the tone of a protective big brother. “It’s true! I always admired how, at such a young age, you managed such a big company with such success. But I never expected you’d get a head full of romantic ideas like a schoolgirl!”
