Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 559

"Here!"

Magdalen brought over a massive portion of meat, proudly placing it on the table. "I sliced it up myself. Dig in, everyone!"

Estelle put a plate of fruit on the table. Seeing Jonathan glance over, she paused and explained, "I, um, arranged the fruit on the plate!"

The whole table erupted in laughter. The aroma of the barbecued meat filled the air, tempting everyone's taste buds.

Jonathan received a call and took a look before picking up.

It was the chief of the local police station near the Movie Center. As soon as he opened his mouth, he sounded genuinely apologetic. "Mr. Lamont, I'm so sorry. I had no idea about what happened today, let alone that you'd opened a restaurant around here. Is it part of a chain?"

"It's owned by a friend of mine," Jonathan replied nonchalantly.

"Ah, well, no difference!" the chief laughed. "I've already looked into the incident, and it was Marcus and Maxwell who started the trouble. I've given them a good dressing down, and I assure you, they won't dare do it again! Please ask your friend to calculate the losses for today, and Marcus and his crew will make amends afterward."

"Mm-hm," Jonathan responded. "I'll have someone from the restaurant get in touch with you soon. Also, my friend's restaurant has only just opened and it’s your territory, so I hope you can look out for them in the future, Mr. Peery!"

"Of course, of course! No need for such formalities. Rest assured, nothing like this will ever happen again!"

"Great."

Jonathan hung up and gave Mr. Peery's phone number to Damian.

Upon hearing that Marcus and his gang would compensate them, Damian couldn't believe it at first. But once he'd wrapped his head around it, he realized it was all thanks to Jonathan's connections.

He went into the kitchen where Xavier was cutting up meat. Though Xavier was an amateur, he was pretty handy with a knife, slicing each piece of meat to the exact same size.

"Right!" Damian nodded, still dazed. He remembered hearing that over half of J City's docks were owned by the Lamont Group. It hadn't meant much to him back then, but now he realized just how powerful the Lamont Group was in J City!

Upon further thought, he felt a surge of pride knowing that the president of the Lamont Group was dining at their restaurant and threw himself into work with renewed vigor.

Estelle and the others enjoyed themselves greatly during the meal, which lasted for nearly an hour. Jonathan and Morrison chatted about business matters, while Estelle and Magdalen found no shortage of topics. The atmosphere was light and enjoyable.

The taste of the barbecue was a big factor, too!

Having learned that Zachary was a chef, Estelle had assumed that, even if he had any culinary skills, he'd be no more than a beginner. To her surprise, he was a pro.

His seasoning was the best she'd ever tasted!

Plus, Xavier's crew was a down-to-earth bunch who didn't resort to cutting corners like many experienced businessmen. They only sourced the freshest, highest quality ingredients. So not only did Estelle and her group enjoy the meal, but other customers who were leaving the restaurant after having their meal also found it to their liking and resolved to come back again.
