The regular meeting started, and Hannah assigned tasks to the various designers this week. She even praised Carmella, saying that her design draft was excellent and was appreciated by the clients.

Carmella sat next to Alice and humbly said, "It's all thanks to Alice's good teaching."

Alice grinned mysteriously.

At the end of the meeting, Hannah started to arrange work for Estelle and Jessica. She glanced at everyone and said, "Estelle, you'll be Miya's assistant."

Miya, the designer, appeared visibly uncomfortable and promptly expressed her disapproval, saying, "No, I don't want her!"

Hannah raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Why not?"

Miya cast a reluctant glance at Estelle and replied, "I recently took on a project from DS Jewelry Studio, and I'm already swamped with work. I simply don't have the time to train a newcomer, nor can I rely on her for any assistance. Please assign her to someone else!"

Carmella chuckled quietly, keeping her head down.

Jessica, on the other hand, reveled in Estelle's misfortune with evident delight.

Inman looked at Estelle, seeing her remain calm in the face of Miya's words. She couldn't help but wonder if Estelle's composure was due to ignorance or true unflappability.

Inman looked at Hannah and said with a smile, "My assistant keeps taking days off lately for personal reasons, so let Estelle be my temporary assistant."

Hannah nodded, "Alright, then Jessica will work with Miya."

This time, Miya didn't object and readily agreed.

The meeting was over, and everyone went back to work.

Each designer had their own separate office, and the assistants worked in the outer common area. The HR and finance departments were downstairs.

She raised an eyebrow and asked with a curious expression, "Did you earn your money by tutoring for the Lamont family? Are they very generous?"

Estelle looked back at her, turned around, and left.

"Sis!" Carmella said softly with a smile, "Please don't tell anyone here that we know each other, okay?"

Estelle looked at her and replied, "Of course!"

Carmella chuckled, then suddenly added, "I'll do my best to look after our parents on your behalf!"

Estelle knew what she meant – if she didn't mention their relationship to anyone, then Carmella would remain the Macclain family's only daughter, and she would take care of their parents in Estelle's stead, replacing all of her roles in their lives.

Estelle didn't say anything and just left.
