Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 191

Back at the villa where she lived with Baldrick Anderson, Baldrick was still awake and looked surprised when she came in. "Why are you back so soon?"

Leaning against the wooden fence, Winnie smiled and said, "Sorry to disappoint you, but Schilder didn't show any interest in me."

Disappointed and confused, Baldrick asked, "Why not?"

"Guess I just don't have the charm to make Schilder cheat on his wife." She shrugged, walked towards her room, and said, "I'm tired, gonna hit the hay."

"You go rest," Baldrick replied.

She didn't look back, went straight into her room, closed the door, and collapsed, sheding tears silently.

The next day, Estelle woke up in Jonathan's arms. The sun was shining brightly on her face, looking warm and inviting.

They'd gone a bit overboard the night before, and Estelle was feeling pretty rough, especially from the aftereffects of the alcohol.

Jonathan coaxed her into having breakfast, and while they were eating, someone from Baldrick's entourage came to invite Jonathan over, saying President Anderson had something important to discuss.

Jonathan wasn't in a rush to see Baldrick, so he finished breakfast with Estelle first, and had a servant make a nourishing soup for her.

Estelle said, "Mr. Anderson probably has urgent matters to discuss with you, otherwise he wouldn't come to see you so early. You don't need to worry about me."

"Alright, just lie down in bed and have a good rest if you're feeling unwell, I'll be back soon." He kissed her cheek and left after instructing the servants.

With her thighs aching and her head pounding, Estelle didn't want to go out. Once Jonathan had left, she went back to her room to read a book.

At Baldrick's villa, Winnie was called away by Mrs. Macy, so the study was empty except for Baldrick.

When he saw Jonathan, Baldrick came out and asked with a smile, "Is Ms. Macclain alright?"

Jonathan fixed his deep gaze on Baldrick and asked, "Go ahead."

Baldrick lowered his voice, "Schilder likes local girls here. I'd be willing to give him Winnie, but unfortunately, he wasn't interested."

He sighed with regret, looking at Jonathan suggestively. "I heard that he prefers young girls. As far as I know, Ms. Macclain bears some resemblance to a younger Mrs. Macy. If Mr. Lamont is willing to let Ms. Macclain sacrifice herself for the deal, I believe Schilder would swiftly sign the agreement. Once this deal is done, I'll give up 2% of the profits."

The AI they planned to create would monopolize the domestic market for decades, and 2% was the largest amount of profit Baldrick could offer.

Jonathan stared at him, his emotions unreadable on his calm and handsome face. He looked up at Baldrick and said softly, "Could you pass me the wine, please?"

Thinking that Jonathan had agreed, Baldrick turned to pick up the wine bottle, intending to pour it for him.

Suddenly, Jonathan reached out and grabbed the bottle, raising it and smashing it hard onto Baldrick's head.
