"I suspect they talked about it when they met, and that's how he found out."
Sabrina held her breath, simmering with frustration. She just knew it. Without Lillian's meddling, she could have kept everything in this family under control. Nothing would have gotten out of hand.
Sure enough, it was that jinx Lillian, always causing trouble for her.
Though she was fuming internally, Sabrina maintained a faint smile and deftly placed some food on Martin's plate.
"When you get down to it, this is all my fault. Martin, I wasn't thinking things through. I shouldn't have brought this up during our honeymoon.
The shares were yours, to begin with; I shouldn't have been so greedy.
And since those shares were returned by Lillian, she must have been unhappy when she found out, which is why she complained to Brandon.
Brandon is Lillian's big brother, after all.
It's only natural that he would protect her. Martin, I'm so sorry. I'm the one who's caused all this discord in the family."
Martin grabbed Sabrina's hand.
"How can you blame yourself? It's my ungrateful, greedy sons.
The two of them, hearing I gave the shares to you and Bella, both came to argue with me.
One minute they're talking about outsiders, the next they're saying those were Lillian's shares and that I'm trying to kick her out of the family for good.
