Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 191

Bella placed a cup of coffee in front of Sebastian. "Is she still not answering her phone or texts?"

Sebastian, his patience worn thin, tossed his phone onto the table.

He didn’t have the lab’s contact information, so he had no idea what was happening.

He should have waited for Lillian after he was finished.

Then he wouldn’t be completely in the dark right now.

"Alright, Sebastian, don't be angry. Didn't they say Lillian needed more tests? Maybe she hasn't gotten her phone back yet. Once she does, I'm sure she'll call. After all, this is about Noah. She wouldn't completely ignore it, would she?"

Sebastian scoffed. "What does she care about Noah? Before prison, she always pretended to have him on her mind, but now, he means nothing to her. I'm not even sure if this lab is reliable. Who knows if their medicine will do Noah more harm than good."

Listening to him, Bella couldn't quite gauge his true feelings. Was he this angry because he secretly wanted to have a second child with Lillian himself?

If not, why would he be so furious?

Though Bella was annoyed herself, she knew she couldn't show it.

She wasn't officially Sebastian's wife yet, so what right did she have to be jealous? All she could do was soothe him and calm him down.

"Lillian has certainly been lacking in her concern for Noah, but she's still his biological mother. If there were any problems with the treatment plan, she would never risk Noah's well-being."

"You have no idea what she's capable of. I know her best. She's manipulative and calculating. If she hadn't been so relentlessly persistent back then, I never would have married her. Now, because of her time in prison, she resents all of us, and that includes Noah."

"That can't be true. Noah is her son, her own flesh and blood. She only wants what's best for him. Actually, since you two have no feelings for each other, not having a second child is the most suitable option. I thought so before, for Noah's sake, but it felt wrong to say it when it was about saving him. But now that there's new technology to save Noah, it's definitely better not to have another child. If you really had a second child, what would happen to it? With parents who don't love each other, who would raise it? These things are complicated and could lead to even more problems down the road. Sebastian, don't blame Lillian. In this regard, she's being very clear-headed, and she actively found this current treatment plan for Noah. It's better for you and for the children this way."

Soothed by Bella's words, Sebastian's anger began to fade.

She had a point.

Sebastian gently pulled Bella into an embrace. "It's just a shame it has to be a second child from me and her to save Noah. Otherwise, we could have our own, and we wouldn't need her at all."

A blush rose on Bella's cheeks. "If you like children, we can have several of our own in the future."

Sebastian didn't reply, only patting Bella's shoulder gently.

Have children?

That was the last thing on Sebastian's mind right now.
