Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 183

Of course, Lillian knew none of this. Hearing a noise from the bathroom, Sabrina knew Martin was coming out. She quickly replaced her cold expression with a smile. As he emerged, she coyly clutched the blanket and asked, "Honey, has it been long enough?"

Martin checked the time and coaxed her, "Patience, my dear. Let's wait a little longer."

Given his age, Martin didn't expect to hit the jackpot on the first try.

He wasn't as virile as he used to be.

Back in the day with Eleanor, it had been incredibly easy.

They'd had three children in quick succession after getting married.

It was a remarkable record, practically one child a year.

Now, he was set on having a late-in-life child, so he was paying close attention to Sabrina's womb.

Sabrina forced a smile and played along.

The entire honeymoon was dedicated to their baby-making efforts.

However, Sabrina kept her eye on the prize: the shares.

With those shares, she and Bella would finally have real security. Martin, true to his word, didn't string her along.

He said he would give Bella the shares Lillian had returned, and he contacted his lawyer to transfer them into Bella's name.

The process was straightforward. The lawyer flew out to meet them, and with Martin's signature, the shares Lillian had rejected were split in two.

One portion went to Sabrina, the other to Bella. Both mother and daughter now held shares in the Mercer Group.

Martin held Sabrina close. "See? I always keep my word. I'd never lie to you. These shares are enough to guarantee a worry-free life for you and Bella.

It's also a safety net for our future child. When the child is older, I'll give them a larger portion of my own shares."

Sabrina's expression was much more animated now.

"Honey, I know you're the best to me. I must have done something right in a past life to have met you.

Without you, I might not have survived. I would have taken Bella and..."

Before she could finish, Martin covered her mouth with his hand. "Don't say such things. No unlucky words. We're still on our honeymoon. Let's be happy. Whatever you want, your husband will give you."

Sabrina nestled into Martin's embrace, looking like a blissful, cherished woman.

The moment Martin was out of sight, she quickly called Bella to share the good news.

After confirming the shares were truly hers with a few key questions, Bella was so excited she couldn't control the volume of her voice.

"That's fantastic, Mom! You're amazing. I'm going to learn from you. As soon as Sebastian and I get our marriage license, I'll have him give me shares in the Blake Group too."

She savored the feeling of taking everything that was once Lillian's, one piece at a time. It was an incredible rush.

Sabrina knew exactly what her next move was. "My darling daughter, since Sebastian has agreed to marry you, don't give him time for second thoughts. Strike while the iron is hot. Getting Lillian out of the picture for good is your top priority right now, understand?"
