Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 181

Leonard would never want Lillian dead.

He probably shouldn't have let Lillian move in with him in the first place. That way, he wouldn't have developed these... feelings.

Without these feelings, he wouldn't be overthinking everything so much.

But who can predict how the heart will turn?

So, Leonard never saw any of this coming.

He was still trying to buy time, wanting Lillian to focus on her treatment first. Once her health improved and the kidney donation wouldn't compromise her well-being, then they could proceed.

Lillian looked at Leonard, watching him remain silent. She quietly put down her fork. "Am I dying?"

"No," Leonard said. "I have the best medical team on my side. I won't let you die."

Lillian breathed a sigh of relief. "I thought so. I've been feeling pretty good lately, so I didn't think I was on my deathbed.

So, why the silence? Is there another problem?"

Leonard managed a smile. He couldn't exactly tell her he was the one dying.

"There is a small issue. The disease is progressing a bit faster than expected. Have you felt any particular discomfort recently?"

Lillian shook her head. "I've been so busy with work, my mind has been completely focused on that. I haven't noticed anything else."

"Clear your schedule as soon as you can. We need to fly to the lab overseas. It will take about two or three days."

"I'll check Sebastian's schedule," Lillian said. "We'll need his cooperation anyway. We should aim for a weekend so it doesn't interfere too much with the work week."

Leonard understood. Despite her poor health, she was still determined to achieve her dreams.

She was racing against time, unwilling to waste a single moment of her life.

"Alright. I'm free anytime, so just let me know what works for you both."

Leonard was busy himself, but his businesses were managed by a dedicated team, so he didn't need to be hands-on all the time.

He had the flexibility to arrange his own schedule.

Taking a honeymoon abroad was something Martin had always dreamed of doing with Sabrina.

It had taken him half a lifetime to make it a reality. Now, looking at Sabrina, Martin felt like he had finally achieved his greatest dream.

Sabrina sat on the beach as Martin served her food and drinks.

Suddenly, he said, "Sabrina, look at us. We're not that old yet, and you're still healthy enough. What do you say we have a child of our own?"

Sabrina froze for a moment, then lowered her head. "Martin, we've waited so many years to finally be together. A child of our own... the very thought makes me happy.

But our other children are already adults. If we suddenly give them a little brother or sister, do you think they'll have a problem with it?"

"Like you said, they're adults," Martin replied. "They'll have their own lives and their own families soon enough.
