"Urgh—"
Unable to hold it back any longer, she rushed into the bathroom and threw up violently.
After cleaning herself up, she checked the time. This was exactly when someone would notify her about Shanley's accident.
She could now head to the hospital openly.
However.
Just as she stepped out of the bathroom, she ran straight into Yolanda Sherwin and a few of her friends.
The group was discussing the trending news.
"Did you see the live stream? He was covered in blood!"
"Falling from that height? If he's not dead, he's definitely going to be paralyzed!"
"It's not like Shanley is the only male heir in the Schwartz family. If he dies, they still have Kurt Schwartz, right?" Yolanda chimed in with a cold sneer. "Better dead than half-alive and paralyzed."
"Oh, right, Yolanda, isn't your family's adopted daughter dating him?"
One of her lackeys suddenly connected the dots. "If Shanley really is done for, doesn't that mean her biggest backer is gone?"
"Uh-huh."
Yolanda smirked triumphantly, her tone dripping with venom. "If you ask me, Shanley lived nearly thirty years safe and sound. How long has it been since he announced his relationship with Juniper Payne, and this happens? I bet..."
Yolanda paused, looking incredibly pleased with herself. "I bet she's a jinx!"
"Huh???" Her friends looked at her in confusion.
"When she was born, she jinxed her parents to death. When she came to my house, she jinxed her grandfather to death. And now, she's jinxed Shanley to death," Yolanda declared.
"Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, but three times means she's cursed."
"She's a walking harbinger of bad luck. Whoever gets close to her suffers."
"If you ever see her around, make sure you take a detour."
"Since Shanley is finished anyway, we don't have to be afraid of Juniper anymore."
Yolanda kept talking, getting more and more riled up, entirely oblivious to the girl standing by the sinks, casually drying her hands.
"I'm sure the Schwartz family will do everything they can to save him," another girl muttered quietly. "I heard he was still breathing when they pulled him out."
