Hearing Jimmie and Harold simultaneously spit out the word "He's" with such exaggerated expressions, Melvin leaned in. He looked left at Jimmie, right at Harold, and asked in confusion, "He's who? You guys recognize him?"
Hearing this, Ebony Fox and Coralie rushed over immediately. Figuring out his identity might give them crucial information about Sanctum Holdings.
"Melvin, get over here." Jimmie grabbed Melvin by the back of the neck and pulled him close, shoving the photo in front of his face. "Does he look familiar to you? Especially those eyes!"
Familiar? Melvin was forced to stare at the picture, analyzing it seriously. The man in the image was incredibly weak, his eye sockets deeply sunken from illness, his cheeks covered in scars.
"When you were six, you sneaked into a lab and fell into a deep pit," Jimmie said, his voice tight. "Someone desperately pulled you up and stayed by your bed all night. When you woke up, he was the first person you saw. Do you remember who that was?"
Melvin fell into a daze as he listened. Slowly, he looked up, his brow furrowed. "The person who saved me and stayed by my bed all night... was our father."
Jimmie and Harold stared at him silently, their expressions grave.
"Jimmie, Harold, are you saying the man in the photo is our father?"
Melvin's words sent shockwaves through Ebony Fox and Coralie. What? The man Juniper had been investigating this whole time was their father?
