Besides, Shanley was clearly completely under Juniper's spell, practically beyond salvation. Since Sheryl wouldn't give her the details, Yolanda couldn't be bothered to ask. She'd just pretend she knew nothing. That way, when the plan inevitably blew up in Sheryl's face and Juniper and Shanley came out for blood, she wouldn't be caught in the crossfire. She would simply sit back, watch them tear each other apart, and reap whatever benefits were left.
Inside the VIP room of the private club.
Shanley, Jimmie, Melvin, Ebony Fox, and Coralie Quill were all seated around the plush sofas. The atmosphere was incredibly tense.
"Celine is pregnant, so traveling off the island wasn't a good idea," Jimmie said. "We didn't have her come, but I gently broke the news that our parents might still be alive."
"And Harold is dealing with his divorce," Jimmie added, clearing his throat awkwardly. "He had some family issues to sort out, but he'll be back in a few days."
"Family issues?" Coralie crossed her legs, her red lips curving upward. "He's really going through with the divorce, huh?"
"It's basically finalized," Melvin chimed in, leaning back casually. "We've never even met the woman. God knows what happened between them to push it to this point."
Ebony Fox, who possessed a fiery temper, was vibrating with rage after hearing Shanley's explanation of the kidnapping. "If I find out who's behind this, I swear I'm going to kill them myself."
"Don't do anything rash," Jimmie warned, his brow deeply furrowed. "Shanley thinks they might be targeting us specifically, or even coming after Juniper. We can't afford to act recklessly and put our little sister in danger."
Hearing that, Ebony Fox forced herself back into her seat, suppressing her fury.
"The Cybernetic Shadows network is throwing everything they have at this. We should have a breakthrough soon," Shanley said. He picked up a paring knife and began casually peeling an apple, his movements elegant and precise. "There's also something else I want to officially announce."
Everyone turned to look at him, ears perked.
"Juniper agreed to marry me," Shanley stated, his dark eyes flickering upward, a faint, genuine smile warming his aristocratic features. "Once we find my future in-laws, we're tying the knot."
Future in-laws? He was already claiming the title? Where was his shame?
