Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 969

Maeve looked at her with utter disgust. "I told you to stop calling me aunt Maeve. Technically, you're older than me."

Millie nodded profusely. "Alright. As long as you don't expose my dirty laundry, I'll call you whatever you want."

Seeing Millie act so subserviently, Maeve uncharacteristically felt a spark of curiosity.

"Were you set up in that video?"

Millie instantly felt like she had found a kindred spirit.

"You really have a sharp eye. It's all my fault for being young and stupid, hanging out with the wrong crowd, and ending up with leverage against me."

"You absolutely have to keep this a secret for me. If my dad finds out, he'll break my legs."

Maeve asked curiously, "Did your dad break Lucia's legs?"

Millie frowned. "What does this have to do with my sister?"

Maeve replied, "Wasn't she scammed by some D-list celebrity?"

Millie gasped. "How do you know about that?"

Maeve shrugged. "Whitty told me."

Millie couldn't help but glance over at Andres, who was currently socializing with the relatives.

"I never would have guessed my aloof uncle had a hobby of gossiping behind people's backs."

Since the two attended the same university and were roughly the same age, they naturally found more topics to discuss.

As they chatted, Millie brought up Anya Morales.

"The lawsuit between your sister and Mr. Warren from Bayside City has been settled. Apparently, the lawyers the Warren Family hired were absolute sharks."

"Initially, she could have gotten three years with a suspended sentence, but those lawyers maneuvered it into a straight seven-year prison term."

"Anya's luck is truly terrible. She had such a bright future ahead of her, and her life was ruined before she even graduated."

Anya ending up like this was entirely within Maeve's expectations.

The very first time she dealt with the Moraleses, she had already seen their future paths.
