Andres was a bit confused.
"What's going on?"
"This is one of Quinn Hayes's properties," Maeve explained in annoyance.
Andres wasn't stupid; he instantly caught the underlying implication.
"Are you saying Quinn has known where your master has been this whole time?"
Quinn was still out of town on business, yet Hugh Caldwell had chosen to arrange their meeting here.
It proved one thing: Hugh was just a front. The real person who wanted to see them was someone else entirely.
That person was Griffin.
Escorted by Murray and a few other bodyguards, Andres and Maeve stepped out of the car.
Someone quickly came out to greet them.
The courtyard architecture was a stunning blend of antique and modern.
Every corner they passed was heavily guarded by security.
Upon reaching the main hall, they finally came face-to-face with Hugh.
The man was nearing fifty but impeccably maintained, radiating an imposing aura.
Despite his high status, he didn't put on airs. Seeing Andres and Maeve enter, he personally stood up to welcome them.
"Mr. White, Maeve. It's a pleasure."
Andres had always held a good impression of Hugh.
Especially since the man had just done him a massive favor.
"The honor is mine, Mr. Caldwell. I've been looking forward to thanking you in person."
Maeve unceremoniously sized Hugh up.
Noticing her piercing stare, Hugh chuckled.
"Are you curious about how I met Griffin?"
Maeve was as blunt as ever.
"I know almost all of my dad's friends, but he's never mentioned you."
