The thought of Maeve carrying his babies filled Andres with such sheer fatherly joy that his mood was practically glowing.
"She needs her friends around right now. Feel free to come by as often as you'd like."
Naomi nodded politely.
"As long as I'm not intruding, Mr. White."
Andres smiled faintly.
"No need for formalities. Maeve's friends are my friends."
After a few more pleasantries, Naomi was about to leave.
She noticed a massive tank in the corner of the living room.
There were no fish inside—just a brilliantly colored Azure Serpent coiled up.
Since it was winter, cold-blooded animals naturally entered a state of brumation.
To keep Lucifer comfortable, Andres had installed heavy-duty heating equipment in the enclosure.
Even so, Lucifer spent most of his time snoozing, lacking the explosive energy he had during the summer.
Naomi casually waved at the snake.
"Bye, Little Bluey."
It was a completely ordinary farewell, but it made Andres freeze.
"Miss Lowell, what did you just call him?"
Naomi looked thoroughly confused.
"Little Bluey. Oh, right, I almost forgot. Maeve mentioned she renamed him Lucifer."
Andres narrowed his eyes, catching the slip immediately.
"You're saying his original name was Little Bluey?"
Naomi was baffled by his intensity.
"Did Maeve seriously never tell you? She and I came up with that name together years ago."
