"With my current abilities, bringing her back to a fully normal state... isn't really an option."
"Does she know we're married?" Andres pressed.
Maeve hummed an affirmative.
"Even if I didn't tell her, my adoptive father definitely did."
"Could we find the time to go visit her?" he asked.
"She's not just my mother-in-law; she was also my late mother's closest friend."
"I think it's necessary we formally meet."
He fully expected her to refuse, but she nodded in agreement.
"I'm fine with it. As for whether she wants to see you, I'll ask her first and get back to you."
Knowing she was willing to introduce him to her family made him quietly sigh in relief.
"By the way, Maeve, we should head down to city hall soon to replace our lost marriage certificate."
Maeve countered smoothly, "And while we're there, maybe we can test if their divorce system is working too?"
His expression instantly darkened.
"The only reason I want to replace the certificate is so we have it ready to announce our marriage to the world."
"Divorce? Don't even think about it."
He had finally found the perfect wife; if he could, he'd tie her to his waist and carry her everywhere.
Yet this impossible woman was still fixated on dumping him.
Maeve unhurriedly continued her meal, entirely unfazed by the idea of going public.
She was practically certain now that Nancy was inextricably linked to Charlie's murder.
Frustratingly, the real Nancy remained entirely off the grid, too terrified to show her face.
"Maeve, Leland Wright's youngest son is hosting his wedding reception at The Grand Horizon Hotel in three days."
She looked at him blankly.
"Who is Leland Wright, and why do I care about his son?"
"Leland was an old friend of my father's."
"His son's name is... whatever, I forgot. But the point is, the kid is younger than me, and he's already getting a wedding."
Maeve blinked. "And?"
