Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 8

The attacker blurted urgently, "Maeve, it's me."

Maeve turned.

A young man stood there, devastatingly handsome, his beauty almost androgynous. A pale-blue casual suit sat on him like it had been tailored for trouble—clean lines, cocky attitude.

He rubbed his arm where she'd grabbed him and complained, "You're tiny, but you're strong. You almost snapped my arm."

Maeve didn't look remotely guilty. "Sneaking up on me comes with consequences, Jasper Jett. Don't tell me you're learning my temper today."

Jasper flashed bright teeth. "Relax. I was kidding. You're so stingy."

A good-looking male server came by carrying a fruit tray. As he passed Jasper, he greeted him. "Boss."

His eyes, however, kept drifting to Maeve.

Zero Bar was one of Aethelburg's most famous nightlife hotspots—pretty people wall to wall. Even the owner was offensively attractive.

And yet Maeve still stood out like something unreal.

Jasper waved the server off, telling him to move along.

The server tore his gaze away with obvious reluctance and walked off.

Jasper hooked an arm around Maeve's shoulders and guided her to his reserved spot. "You like the vibe?"

"Aren't you supposed to run a law firm?"

Jasper murmured a few instructions to the bartender, then smiled at Maeve again. "The firm's the side hustle that prints money. The club is what I actually want."

Maeve was speechless.

In legal circles, Jasper Jett's name was legendary. Every case he touched, he won—one hundred percent.

His firm was booming, and he'd decided his passion was this chaotic nightclub. He had to have water on the brain.

A moment later, the bartender delivered two drinks: a blue cocktail, and a warmed glass of milk.
