Finn Chase's face darkened instantly as he was publicly branded a traitor.
Poaching players was common in the gaming circle. Though some unspoken rules were unsavory, everyone knew how the game was played. Besides, The Berserkers hadn't just poached him.
Maeve intentionally left her mic on open broadcast, calling him a traitor to Team MRX in front of the massive audience. It was a direct slap to his face.
Luke Grover switched his mic to global broadcast.
"If you're scared, just say it. Personal attacks are pointless."
"And you should be thanking our star jungler. If he hadn't given up his spot, you wouldn't even have the chance to play."
Maeve was never one to lose a battle of words.
"Whether your jungler is a traitor or not, the audience here and everyone watching the stream knows perfectly well."
"If you're afraid of criticism, don't do things that make you a laughingstock."
"Since you chose this path, be prepared to get dragged."
Maeve cast a mocking glance at the guy with glasses standing next to Luke.
"My teammates tell me you love racking up kills in-game."
"To be honest, I share that exact same hobby."
"Your name is Finn Chase, right? This match, I'm not touching a single tower until I've killed you thirty times."
Finn had never met anyone so brazen.
As the highly anticipated star jungler, being killed thirty times by an opponent was something that had never happened in his entire gaming career.
He fought the urge to curse. "What arrogant words."
Luke also taunted Maeve. "Forget thirty kills. If you can even get three, I'll admit you're good."
Maeve met Luke's gaze with a beaming smile.
