"You can't let her inject you, Mr. Salazar! It will interfere with the delicate balance of my treatment!"
Landon echoed her panic.
"God knows what poison is in that syringe! Don't gamble your life on a whim!"
Even Chandler felt his boss was being far too reckless.
"Sir, please wait for the actual doctors to arrive."
Honestly, it was baffling. The bodyguards had gone to fetch the medical team ages ago. Where were they?
Andres threw the full weight of his authority behind Maeve.
"If anything happens to Mr. Salazar after this injection, the White family will take full responsibility."
Maeve stared at the syringe in her hand and sighed.
He really didn't need to put his entire empire on the line for this.
Landon sneered.
"You violently oppose Natalia saving his life, and now you want him injected with an unknown drug? What is your endgame here?"
Andres shot Landon a look of withering contempt.
"Has it ever occurred to you that I'm trying to stop you two from murdering him?"
Landon's brow furrowed angrily.
"I won't stand for these baseless accusations."
Completely ignoring him, Andres focused solely on Leonardo.
"Doesn't it strike you as odd, Mr. Salazar? Your private medical team accompanied you to Lumiere City. Why haven't they shown up for an emergency?"
Leonardo didn't know how long he had been unconscious.
But Chandler felt a chill run down his spine at Andres's words.
He leaned in and whispered to his boss.
"He's right, sir. They should have been here ten minutes ago."
Andres shot Landon a slow, calculating look.
"It's quite obvious someone delayed them."
Landon masked his guilt with feigned outrage.
"Are you implying I somehow manipulated your medical staff?"
Maeve rolled her eyes, exhausted by the theatrics.
"Are you guys done with the dramatic monologues?"
"If we waste any more time, I'm washing my hands of this whole mess."
