"Unfortunately for her, she's nothing but a fraud. She is not the Shadow Healer."
Natalia exploded with rage.
"Don't you dare slander me, Andres!"
"You know better than anyone that I am the real deal."
"Your mother's paralyzed legs regained sensation after my treatment. Everyone there saw it!"
"If you had let me stay at Azure Bay to continue her therapy, she might be walking by now."
Fueled by indignation, Natalia pointed a trembling finger at Maeve.
"It's all because of her!"
"You let a pretty face distract you from your duty as a son."
"Mark my words, I am the only person in this world who can make your mother walk again."
"Hahaha!"
Maeve finally lost it, bursting into uncontrollable laughter at Natalia's self-righteous monologue.
Natalia's eyes widened in fury.
"What's so funny?"
Maeve wiped a tear of mirth from her eye. "You're so stupid it's almost an art form."
The surrounding crowd exchanged bewildered looks.
What kind of insult was that?
Having suffered crushing defeats at Maeve's hands before, Landon realized she was about to ruin everything.
He quickly turned to Leonardo.
"There's still some time before the afternoon session, Mr. Salazar. Why don't we find a private room so Natalia can give you a proper treatment?"
Maeve sneered. "You painstakingly tampered with his coffee just so he'd collapse in public. You're not leaving until you get your show."
The color drained from Landon's face.
"Don't spout ridiculous lies, Maeve!"
"I have no feud with Mr. Salazar. Why on earth would I tamper with his coffee?"
Maeve announced the truth to the entire room.
