Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 593

Lumiere City, International Clubhouse.

Andres White, having just enjoyed a free comedy show starring Landon Hart, was in fairly good spirits.

Exiting the parking lot, he walked toward the clubhouse's main entrance, flanked by Murray and Hans.

It was twelve-thirty in the afternoon, prime time for lunch. He wondered if Maeve had eaten on time.

Andres took the initiative and gave her a call.

It rang for a long time before Maeve finally answered.

"I'm driving. Make it quick."

Andres spoke as he walked. "Nothing major. Just wondering how your assessment at the lab is going."

Today was the sixth day.

Once she made it past midnight, she would pass Lab C's final trial.

Maeve's calm voice drifted through the receiver.

"Subject 1152 is dead."

"Dead?"

Andres paused in his tracks, completely taken aback by the unexpected news.

Trailing beside him, Hans and Murray stopped simultaneously.

Since he couldn't see Maeve's face, Andres couldn't gauge her current mood.

He asked tentatively, "What happened?"

Maeve's tone remained perfectly level.

"Someone didn't want me to pass Lab C's ultimate assessment, so they used infrasound to end Subject 1152's life early."

The fact that someone dared to scheme against Maeve infuriated Andres even more than if they had targeted him.

"Did they catch the killer? What is Simon Grover's stance on this?"

Maeve replied, "None of that matters to me anymore."

Until she decrypted the contents of the chip Subject 1152 had given her, she had no desire to deal with Lab C.

Originally, to gain high-level clearance at the lab, she had been prepared to offer up one of her own research projects as a token of loyalty.

But with the chip from Subject 1152 in her possession, Maeve decided to change her strategy.

She knew Simon Grover was desperate for talent; as long as she agreed to join, the opportunity would always be there.
