Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 429

Sylvia was a woman of principle; she never took advantage of people if she didn't have to.

Even though she was part of The Mystic Order, she was terrible at drawing talismans.

Any charm she drew would barely have a fraction of the power Maeve's had—they were basically expensive scratch paper.

But Maeve's charms were a totally different breed.

They operated at 100% efficiency. If Sylvia could get two for her parents, it would be the ultimate act of devotion as a daughter.

Once Sylvia asked, Elijah and Ian immediately chimed in with hopeful puppy-dog eyes.

Who wouldn't want a perfectly crafted talisman?

Quinn lost his mind.

"Hey, hey, back off! Don't get greedy now!"

He had rushed all the way from Gotham to Aethelburg specifically for Maeve's charms.

He couldn't get back the ones she burned, but he'll be damned if he let anyone snatch the ones he had carefully hoarded in his arms.

Sylvia rolled her eyes at him.

"You didn't even draw them, so why are you hyperventilating?"

Quinn hugged the stack of paper tightly against his chest. "These are all reserved for me. Don't even think about taking a single one."

Everyone was speechless.

Maeve thought it was no big deal.

She patted Quinn lightly on the shoulder.

"Pick out two protection charms for Miss Rose."

Quinn leaned in and whispered frantically in her ear, "Do you have any idea how much a flawless protection charm goes for at auction?"

Maeve gave him a deadpan look.

"Keep whining, and you're leaving here with absolutely nothing."

Quinn's pained expression vanished instantly, replaced by starry eyes.

"Maeve, I knew you loved me the most!"
