Elijah and Quinn exchanged a knowing look.
The Henry Hayes that Kayden was talking about was indeed their playboy father.
And Kayden's story was completely accurate.
When they were five, they had been sent off to The Luminary Order and The Void Order, respectively, officially joining their distinct paths.
This was a deeply guarded secret within the Hayes Family, yet this old butler from the White Family had laid it all out perfectly.
Quinn stood off to the side, studying Kayden for a moment, before dropping a bombshell that caught everyone off guard.
"You're from The Luminary Order too, aren't you?"
Elijah and the other disciples stared at Quinn like he had grown a second head.
They couldn't fathom how he arrived at that conclusion.
But Quinn's remark sparked something in Maeve's memory.
"Now I remember. Master Veritas used to have an incredibly gifted younger colleague."
"But he got obsessed with the dark arts, did a lot of twisted, unforgivable things behind the Order's back, and got expelled."
When Maeve spoke, she didn't just speak.
She dropped absolute nukes.
Even Andres had no idea that Kayden, the old butler of the manor, had a background in The Mystic Realm.
Kayden stared at Maeve in shock.
"And who the hell are you?"
When his gaze accidentally landed on the pen spinning effortlessly between Maeve's fingers, his pupils dilated in pure horror.
He pointed a trembling finger at her. "What is your relationship to Griffin?"
Maeve raised an eyebrow. "Take a guess."
Kayden looked like his eyes were about to pop out of his skull.
"No wonder my plans fell apart! It was you... a little brat who broke my grid."
Sylvia stepped forward. "So you really are from The Luminary Order?"
If what Maeve said was true, this dying old man was technically her exiled uncle in the Order.
