Andres didn't want anyone invading his private space.
Natalia still waltzed in under the fake banner of "The Shadow Healer" and took up residence anyway.
Not visited.
Moved in.
Natalia signed an agreement with Hans.
It stated that while she treated Mrs. White's leg condition, the White family would provide her room and board.
On the day Natalia officially arrived at Azure Bay, both Andres and Maeve were away.
Hans was the one who brought her inside.
He led her to a separate building, opened a door with a key, and showed her in.
The room was about four hundred square feet—fully furnished, tastefully decorated, with its own private bathroom.
Hans handed her the key.
"This will be where you stay during your time at Azure Bay."
"If there's anything you're unhappy with, tell Ella."
"Ella's the housekeeper who greeted you at the entrance."
Natalia liked the room—she really did—but she couldn't help asking:
"What about that house over there? Who lives there?"
Hans answered, "That's the main residence. Mr. Andres and Miss Vance live there."
He didn't say it out loud, but the message was clear:
This room was comfortable, yes.
But it wasn't the main house.
It was guest-and-staff quarters.
Letting Natalia stay on the property at all was already the limit of what Andres would tolerate.
Whether Natalia was the real Shadow Healer or not, Andres wasn't giving her a path into the main residence.
Natalia took the key. "When do I get to meet Mrs. White?"
